Best Location for a new theme park

1) North Carolina
2) NYC
3) Montana
4) Nevada
5) Indiana
I find it unsettling that Six Flags just sits on the Old Indiana property! They just need to finish spending money on WoA. Indiana Beach could be turned into something big with the right amount of cash and a thorough cleaning.

2. If Seattle receives a Six Flags park, Six Flags has themselves a gold mine. (as long as it does not rain every operating day ;))

Didn't SF buy Enchanted Village? I think Seattle already has an SF park. :-D

Great responses everybody!

The Theme Park in Indiana: I be willing to work on making that one a reality

Old Indiana: Kudos: Something needs to be done there. Before Six Flags Got really big, there where 1998 news stories that they were in fact going to put new attractions in there and make it one heck of a park.

Now it be a junkyard!

I've said it before... a world class park right between Seattle and Portland would be fabulous. It's already one of the most beautiful (and highly underrated) areas of the country. Why not plant a big tourist trap there?

Jeff (who understand that unfortunately it sure does rain a lot in that area, particularly closer to Seattle)

North of Indy would be the spot, pulling from the Chicago metro area as well.
a theme park in Las Vegas would do good, there are a couple of small ones but i think it needs a very large park.

Six flags spends way to much money on WOA to do anything with old indiana. I would love for Indiana to get a large Park. IT could easily handle on but no sucsessful attempts have been made. Indiana beach and holiday world are in to bad of location to have a huge attendence. IF I ever get rich I am going to build a themepark near indianapolis.
San Diego. Turn it into the new major tourist area in CA. There's already the San Diego Zoo and Sea World.

I think Indiana is in too many marketing areas for other parks to get a large park of it's own (Great America in Northwestern Indiana, Cedar Point to the northeast, Kings Island to the southeast and Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to the south). With Six Flags and Cedar Fair not interested in building, only buying, that leaves Disney, Universal, Busch, and they tend to concentrate their facilities in high volume tourist areas with year round operation.

I wish I could recall *where* I read it, but I did read that the US market is basically saturated in terms of major theme parks, which is why US theme park operators are expanding overseas.
I also agree with Indianapolis and Salt Lake City but what about Nashville? Since Opryland left there is nothing there to thrill them. It doesn't have to be a large park. A mid-size themer would work fine.

Except for Six Flags Over Georgia, right Hershey? I'll agree with those who mentioned New Mexico/Arizona. I'd say Phoenix, Tuscon, Alberquerqe or Santa Fe would be great places for a large theme park. Large population base, big tourist draw, and year-round operation. Just make sure theres a water park with it!

I say that California and Florida have way to many parks. So the best place is New Jersey dont matter if its open all year or not because its in the northeast. Its the best spot for a park anyways since it can be about an hour away from New York City and Philidelphia if they wanted to just how Six Flags Great Adventure, whick is not enough for these two huge cities. Other than here i would say Virgina is a perfect place little bit nicer weather than New Jersey.

Keep this in mind:

There are quite a few theme park companies out there that will build new parks:

Alfa Smartparks
International Theme Park Services
Landmark Entertainment
Entercitement(R.I.P)

It's possible to get a theme park started even if you are not rich

This is where Sponsorship comes in handy:)

From your mouth to Cedar Fair's ears . . .

Not to mention the Wild Animal Park and Legoland. And we're close enough to LA that you could combine the elements however you would like!
