Oh, and are you still thinking about Great adventure Sunday and Dorney during the morning?
Depending on if I go to KW or not, I may joing you for both (with my ginger so that I'm dry all day...)
Probably all day, on the flyers before the event starts. The coaster are pretty good during the day, but unf'nbelievable at night and the flyers are pretty good all day (and cheaper during the day ;)).
I doubt I'll go to Dorney unless there're other people around. I don't want to spend $20 for Talon and Steel Farce.
And yeah, snapping is pretty automagic. ;) It took me a full cycle to get a tiny snap my first time, but on my 3rd cycle I got a couple of good ones. By my 5th or 6th I had some godly runs, but I'm still not that consistent...

I remember the old days of PPP when the Phoenix, the Carousel, the Haunted Mansion and the Antique Cars were the only rides open. With only a few hundred people spread between those rides, it was possible to see all your friends and get 10 rides on everything within the 4 hours set aside for the event. Now, you're lucky if you get one ride on everything and see half of the people you expect to see.
Do I still love PPP? Absolutely!
Do I sometimes wish for the good 'ol days to return? Yes.
Do you hate people that answer their own questions? Probably.

I guess all the suspense is over, and everyone can return from the edges of their seats.
Hmmm...and who predicted that again? ;)
Oh and Ha
Knoebels is very open to the whole "snapping" practice on their Flyer, but it's the aggressive forcing and slamming of the sails that's forced them to put up the sign. The sails have been damaged (many destroyed), and seeing as how Bish-Rocco Flying Scooters are no longer manufactured (the newer models are from Larson), Knoebels has to have replacements made in-house, and then sent out for finishing. As you can imagine, this is a very, very expensive undertaking. Most importantly, however, Knoebels is concerned about their gem of a Flying Scooter making it into the years to come - so that future generations can enjoy the thrill that only a vintage model can offer.
So, overall, feel free to snap - just take it easy on the ride. As the administrator told me (and I've found it to be quite true), there's no need to attack the rudder in order to achieve a good snap. By respecting the ride, we'll all assure a good, long life for this treasure, and be able to anticipate many years ahead of the Flyer doing what it does best - providing an unparalleled Flying Scooter experience.
I must admit, The Flyers in any park scare me intensely. I have never snapped the Flyers because I am usuially to scared to even ride them. I have had maybe less than 5 rides on a Flyer type ride in my lifetime. I'll ride anything else with no fear.
I rode the Knoebels' ride only once. Scarier than the Haunted Mansion, imho.
A little off topic: I had planned on a TR for this trip, but haven't been in the mood. Even though I still have problems with how ugly I think the park is, I'll admit that I had a really good time there this trip. I can almost see why people rave about the place, ALMOST. The food was very good, but the food service employees sucked. The rides were fun and the ride opps were fantastic and friendly.
Let me say again how friendly the ride opp was when he told us to make sure we had fun, but not to snap the flyers.

but then Dexter said:
If anyone snapped the Flyers, he threatened to "turn the ride down from 10 to 3 for the rest of the ride", and the person snapping them,"would not get on this ride for the rest of the day."
So, the question still remains, which is it that is not allowed: Agressively, and unnecessairly, slamming the rudder / sail back and forth, or "snapping" the flyer even with gentle movement of the rudder / sail, or both?
