Of course not. My kids are my life. In fact, coasters aren't even all of my amusement park life. Once I'm on the midway....
28% Spin and Spues
32% Coasters
40% Waterpark
IMHO if an amusement park lacks a waterpark, it's only half a park. If it has a waterpark at an extra cost, it's 2/3 of a park and an insulting one at that. I'll take a handful of coasters and a good waterpark anyday over a park with 20 coasters without one.

LONG LIVE ARROW DYNAMICS!!
Actually no, coasters are definitely NOT my life. I find my interest subsiding more and more everyday.
When I was younger, I always promised myself that when I was old enough I would travel around and ride as many rollercoasters as I could. Well, I have done that for about 5 years now, and although I have losts of fun, that "oat" has been sewn.
I hit the big 30 this year and realized I spent most of my 20's basically "checking off" things from a list of want-to-do's before I settle down. Gotta tell you, when I compare all that I have done over the last 10 years on my own, the times that I recall the most, or had the best time at, were with friends and family. It did not matter what I was doing.
Quite honestly, my coaster candle is just about out of wax. Although I intend on riding more coasters and visiting more parks, I have well quenched my childhood desire.
I am most envious of guys my age with wonderful families and terrific kids to live vicariously through. That is my main focus for now. Man, I would kill to have a few "tots" to introduce to parks and see things through their eyes. I hope that happens soon.

My family is my life. Riding coasters is something I enjoy doing to add a little excitement/adrenaline to my life. If I didn't have coasters, I'd probably drag race more, spend more time at waterparks, or spend more time on my artwork during the "coaster" season.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
Shaggy, I thought I was the only one.
I'm only 26, and there are many, many coasters I still would love to ride, but at this point in my life, it doesn't bother me if I never get to.
When I was at the Wicked Twister media day a coupla weeks ago, I had fun, but I couldn't help wishing that, instead of standing alone in the cold rain at 9 a.m., 150 miles from home, that I was snuggled in a warm bed with my wife.
I'll continue to visit parks and ride coasters whenever I can fit it into my schedule. But my life? Coasters barely are a part of it, in the whole scheme of things.

I'd say they are a big part in my life. I center most of my free time around going to amusement parks with friends or just checking this place out when I have time.
Hopefully they will play a larger role in my life if I become an engineer which I would like to be.

Right now the most important thing in my life after the norms (faith, family, and friends) is school. I've got 7 months until I graduate and I can't wait.
Like many others, coasters only constitute a minor portion of my life. I have many other hobbies I enjoy as much as coasters, especially playing my bass (get nasai on drums, DragonsIOA on guitar and we're close to having a Coasterbuzz Band! ;) ). As little as I get to ride coasters(3-4 times/year), if they were my life I'd get pretty bored.
Most people have other things going on in their lives other than rollercoasters, it's just that frequenting coaster web sites give you a warped perspective because coasters are ALL that's talked about on them. I always say never judge anyone by how they come off on-line, it's usually a slight mis-representation. I love rollercoasters, I also love gambling, hiking, movies, traveling and a host of other things. BUT, I do tend to spend quite a bit of time on coaster web sites when I have free time at work. It sure beats talking about share holdings...
To those that are losing interest in coasting, I say get out from behind the scenes, take off your enthusiast cap for awhile, stop over-analizing parks so much and just have some fun. Well it worked for me anyway. :)

First off, for all you people trying to make fun of people who say their lives are coaster, get a life for yourself and leave them alone. If coasters are their biggest and main hobby, that's fine, let it be, that's not sad, it's who they are, and if it's different than you, then too bad, not everyone is made the same, so let them be different than you. I'm proud of those people, they're not afraid to have different lives than most of the rest of the world, and that's one of the best things you can do.
Myself, coasters are up there in my book of interests, #2 or #3, but #1 would have to be music. Mostly hard rock with a lot of metal (mostly thrash, but all kinds really), and a lot of other types (blues, jazz, punk, old rap, stuff like that). Coasters are probably #2, but I haven't been able to ride a whole lot these past few years. Mostly because of time, but like Shaggy said, I've probably overdone it too much in past years before. That's one common mistake among lots of coaster enthusiasts, they do too much at once and lose the interest for a while. Personally, right now, I'm holding my park visitations to 15 or less a year. Before it'd get up to 25 and around that area, and that's too much. I didn't realize it until lately, but I took it a little too fast, and now I've settled down. I'm not going for more than 1 or 2 parks I usually don't visit a year. In '99 I went to around 10 new/usually don't visit parks, and that was too much right there.

Well, maybe i'm the first to admit it, but i'm a hormone raged teeneager. Meanng:
Coasters: 25%
Girls: 25%
Family: 25%
Sports: 25%
There you go, I think about all them the same.

How much more floorless can they get?

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone
That's funny there, G.A.A....I'd think if you were "hormone-raged" that girls would rank a *bit* higher. I'm WAY post-teen, and they still get more than 25% of my time.....of course, when you're in your 30s, you have to call them "women"...;).
As for sports, it's not fair to ask when we're between March Madness and the NBA Finals....they go WAY down during the summer "baseball doldrums", leaving extra free time for coasters.....and WOMEN....;).

Interesting. A little inventory of how I spend my time:
1. Religion/Philosphy - Not really the practice of any particular religion, but more time actually thinking about/studying different theologies, philosophies, etc.
2. Thoughts about "the human condition." Ties in well with #1 on my list, despite the tendancy to produce moments of extreme despair and elation.
3. Music - Wether DJing, playing in bands, or just listening, music will always be a part of my life.
4. Girls/Women - Still looking for mrs. chris, or someone I can stand for more than a week. This, however, has more to do with my own "issues" than any potential mrs. c.
5. Reading - I read whenever I have time, about 3 or four novels a month when I'm on a roll.
6.Visual Arts - I spend a lot of time at art galleries and museums, so I inevitably spend a lot of time thinking about and discussing the visual arts (despite my own lack of talent in any of them).
7. Coasters - Coasters/Amusement parks are pure escapism for me, and I really don't take it all that seriously. It's purely for fun. If I ever appear to take it seriously, someone here please tell me to chill.
8. Work - I'm really not "career driven." My job is just that: I get enough cash to support my hobbies/passions, and I also get insurance.

Someday there will be something here.
Coasters are definitely one of the tops on my list. Whether building a model, playing RCT/NoLimits, or trying to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, roller coasters are definitely a big part of my life.
Also, I'd like to reiterate what Pantera Psycho said. If coasters aren't your life and you think there are way more important things in life, that's fine, but when you tell other people that their lives are sad!...what are you thinking?! That's definitely not something a teenager needs to hear when they are already trying to please a million people in their lives. I'm sure they get enough of that at school, at home, and they sure as hell don't need to hear about it here. This is a place many come to escape that ridicule.
If someone would tell you "Geeze, you've lead a life of blind faith your whole life? Man you need to get a life!" That's basicly what you're telling them. Obviously a younger person's priorities are different from that of a 20-30 year-old (hopefully) but at least don't hinder what they love the most in life. Just because your idea of what's important is set in stone, that doesn't mean that everyone else's are.
