Are coasters really your life?

Coasters aren't my life. I really like riding them, but it is just for fun. I like other things too, like golfing and watching TV. If all coasters were torn down, I would do what the person from Indiana did with the Blue Flash or whatever. I would make a coaster in my backyard.
Basically they are my life because everything I do pretty much has to do with 'em.

SFGA2001, if I can get my band going the way things appear to be going, I will have a CCI in my backyard in the next 5 years. You can come over and ride it!

Well said my friend. Strange enough, I too play the drums! By the looks of your pic, you are a serious player. I'm just a hacker! Self taught.

Drumming is how I met my wife! I once played in a Christian pop/rock band. Tons of fun, but never really went anywhere.

So many coasters, so little vacation time....

Coasters are actually only about 50% of my life. The other half is friends and family along with skiing. A lot of times I would rather go skiing than going to a park and vis-versa. And it's interesting that a lot of people have commented on how skiing and coasters are similar thrill wise.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

Coasters are a big part of my life but if they were demolished I wouldn't do anything drastic. I would think about life with coasters but I would quickly pick up another hobby and life would go on.

mmm, roller coaster

it would be impossible for me to ever live the same. i would be very depressed and upset. like most people who have posted, family and friends are the only things that come first. after that its coasters for the next trillion numbers down the list. its not a sad life, im just obsessed. if i play video games or sports or something, those are just time consumers. i always look for something fast or exciting to atleast fill 5-10% of that thrill.

Coasters are about 80% of my life. There are only three other things more important than school to me, family, religion, and school. But i have a job so that holds me back from going to parks sometimes, and I play guitar.

If coasters were demolished, i would definately do something to get the adrenaline going. Probably base-jumping, street racing, or skiing. Even though i have never done any of those, it would be really cool to.

Thanks Rob for getting exactly what I was saying. Coasters are my biggest hobby too, but...

For all of those that complain about those of us whose lives revolve around coasters, worry about your own life. And if you've got a problem because we're big fans of something, that's too damn bad. Go pick a fight in real life so you can get the beating you deserve.

When you're old enough to have to pay your own bills and have to make it in the real world, you'll understand why you have to focus on other things. As for this fight that I'm apparently picking, grow up. I was stating an opinion about the seriousness of hobbies. As for the beating I supposedly deserve because of that opinion? ROFL, I'm only 6-2, 215 pounds, so go for it.

If your really evil in this life, do you come back as toilet paper????
ladies and gentlemen, due to an increase in line jumping, people caught cutting in line will no longer be ejected from the park. u will be ejected from the ride

a few years ago I thought my obsession was a little extreme so I gained employment at an amusement park and it gave me a totally new perspective on coasters and parks. I don't work for a park now however I am still constantly looking forward to my next visit to a park. I used to have a one track mind (no pun entended) but I have since gotten a little bit of it out of my system.

I totally understand how you guy who say that coasters are your life feel, I was exactly the same way a few years back. Although I don't feel that it's a problem, you may become less obsessed and more professional about amusement parks if you would work at one for a few years like I did.

People should stop picking fights with thier fellow coaster buddies. Why would anyone join in on this conversation if they didn't like coasters as much as we do? Please be a little more compassionate.

Other than family, friends, and girls, coasters are probrobly the biggest thing in my life. I also enjoy golf and bowling.

"enough is enough"-?

No, coasters are a small part of my life. Before coasters, I have my faith, my wife, my brothers, my parents and extended family, my friends, my home and my job in that order.

Also, if there were no coasters, I'd just fall back on one of my other hobbies.... video games, golf, MLB, word puzzles, movies. Obsession on a single thing can be dangerous.

I do think about coasters alot. Which is the reason I check out coasterbuzz at least once daily to at least check out the news. I am sure everyone else on here that posts has other hobbies as well. Why do people on here always have to act superior for thinking their way is the right way? Just try and keep and open mind to other points of view. Coasters are great. Lets just share about them.

I think if there were no coasters I would probably spend more time on scuba that is until Markey finds that the number of people that get hurt or injured diving is too high and decides to ban that too.

Not even close. Like many others here, apparently, I'm a musician first and foremost as far as "hobbies" are concerned. I read, I exercise, I play strategy and video games. I focus a great deal of energy on my professional life. I work on making my new marraige strong and successful. And, if I can fit it in, I ride some coasters on the weekends.

It seems as though many of the Buzzers who say that coasters are their lives are pre-adults. I wouldn't have believed this at 17, but when you get done with school and start your own family, you'll be amazed how little rollercoasters will mean to you. They'll still be a great pastime, a wonderful hobby, but nothing more.
