Anything new about Twisted Twins at SFKK? Now Chang to SFGAm discussion.

Anybody think it could possibly go to Six Flags St. Louis? They don't have a large looping coaster, nor an existing stand-up.

Looks like they have the space as well: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.514923,-90.675348&spn=0.003192,0....&t=k&hl=en

Yeah. And here's what they'll do...they'll stick it right behind The Riddler's Revenge and name it The Riddler's Revenge Jr. Or Son of The Riddler's Revenge.

SFMM is the least likely candidate as Chang's new home.

I'm more inclined to believe the SFGAm rumor 'cause replacing a small and old stand-up with a much larger newer one makes more sense than putting in a stand-up coaster that's smaller than an existing stand-up (case in point SFMM).

In addition, at the Terminator Salvation: The Ride construction tour earlier this year, Jay and Tim mentioned to the group that they "are in talks with Intamin at the moment" and that's all they could say.

Make what you will of it.

All the rumors point to Six Flags Great America but in my opinion the other Six Flags with the America name that ain't so great is the better candidate. That being said, I suspect it's headed to the Windy City.

That listing on rcdb has been there for many months now, long before the announcement or any rumors about Chang's removal came out. Screamscape does mention a rumor about Chang going to SFMM but , as others have said, it would make no sense because MM already has Riddler's Revenge.

My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
2010 total ride laps: 437

That listing for SFMM in 2010 has been on rcdb for well over a year. It's based on a comment Shapiro made at an ACE event.

If it's on the Internet, it's obviously true no matter what.

I never made it down to SFKK despite it being relatively close. Yet, I really am not that sad about it even now.

You did not miss anything. Soon you can ride SFKK rides at a park near you!

I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.

I like that parks are closing or switching to water parks. Now I don't have to make as many trips to ride different rides. Geauga Lake and now SFKK. This is a good thing.

All things considered, I think the *other* SFGA is still the optimum location for the ride...the one in Joisey, off exit 7A. ;)

That sounds good to me. If it would fit in Scream Machines's spot or tear down the SBNO Old Country and put it there (relocate the bumper cars elsewhere in the park) and then make it part of Movietown.

I think it would do well in the park, most visitors have never seen or ridden a standup and it would be unique to the area. I know there was Shockwave almost 20 years ago but I think most people under 30 don't even know about it

Oh I knew that Moosh. :) And I do know that Riddler's Revenge is already there, but I was just simply throwing an idea out there. :)

Chang is now going to be dismantled from SFKK for their largest water park expansion in their history. Any word of other rides going to be removed or just Chang?

Something to remember about Chang...

Chang was installed before Premier Parks had even thought about buying Six Flags.

It really isn't that surprising that Chang ended up at Kentucky Kingdom, as it was quickly being developed as a bit of a showplace, to the extent that the height restriction would allow it. The first SLC in North America (T^2), the first Giant Drop in the world (Hellevator), Vekoma's first wood carousel...Kentucky Kingdom was the first Premier park to get the Six Flags nameplate for a very good reason, even though Darien Lake was a lot closer to already being a Six Flags park.

Pity Premier did the conversion, then basically forgot about the place...

I still think Chang, whether floorless, standup, or sit down, will make an incredible ride at SFGAm. People will eat up a large looping coaster like this!

Honestly, to me I think of SFGAm as being the "Cedar Point" of Six Flags parks. I just don't see them getting the "hype benefit" of moving this coaster there, especially when the market is already familiar with stand-up coasters. To me it makes much more sense to move to Chang to Great Adventure (attendance justifies operating 3 trains and maximizing its capacity) or moving it to St. Louis or America which neither market are familiar with stand-up coasters and they would receive I huge response from it (attendance and revenue).

If Six Flags/B&M are converting it to a floorless coaster then of course that changes the whole story.

Three trains on a B&M stand-up? Ha! Good luck with that.

Jeff - Editor - CoasterBuzz.com - My Blog

With only 2 people checking each train as is almost always the case at Great Adventure, the trains on a standup would always be double stacking. Medusa/Bizarro has been running 3 trains almost all the time as of last season and the trains are always stacked and sometimes double stacked. It's not really the ops fault, you can't check a 30 seater train with seatbelts with only 2 people and not stack.

If 'we' (SFGAm is my home park) do get Chang, I would hope to see a conversion to sit down floorless. I think it would be much more enjoyable. I've been on a Chang once when it was new and 2 times since then. Not as painful as Iron Wolf, and no where near as 'fun' as Riddler's Revenge.

I do think it would be great for the crowd, some people do miss Shockwave.

I would rather the park spent money on improvements (American Eagle screams to be part of the rest of the park, and would love some TLC, got other ideas too). Demon, with some creativity and a little money, could be smoother and very creepy. But I know, the corporate minded way is up front. Also, being probably the best and best-run park in the chain, I still think customer service has a long way to go. Fill seats, connect with guests, do I hear free pop?

It won't be converted to a floorless. Period. Chang, wherever it moves to, will remain a stand-up coaster.

Not on El Toro...

However, El Toro is not a three train B&M so point taken. I just wanted to give major props to the '08 El Toro crew!
