I was just looking at the SFKK website.
You can purchase your tickets online for only $24.99 + a service charge. The season pass is going for $44.99 as well. The place isn't a bad deal when it comes down to it. They park has enough for a full day if you spend a few hours in the waterpark.
The last time I was there would have been in 2006 after Holiwood Nights/Rumblefest and we were astonished of how well the place was run and how great it was looking.
I'm not too upset about them having a few rides shut down. That area was home to the coaster, Falls and a Zepplin flat ride as well as some games, a restroom and a snack shack which takes quite a bit of staff to operate once you add it all together.
SFKK is a pretty decent Cash Cow right now, and I think it is priced fairly.
I have pretty much enjoyed my visits there as well.
Greezed Lightnin, Thunder Run, and Chang are very decent coasters. Twisted Twins wasn't anything to write home about. They have a few decent flats and Penguin's Blizzard River is a well themed and fun rapids ride.
Hopefully they get Mile High Falls up and running soon. The splash on that thing is enormous.
That area was always a dead spot that they closed off.
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
The twins are the only true dueling coasters.
Even the 'dueling' dragons at IOA don't have trains that pass opposite each other in the station.
What about lightning racer at hershey?
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
What about Gwazi? Stampida? Heck, I'd go as far to say Disneyland's Matterhorn has both racing and dueling elements.
I think Rye means that the Twins are the only coasters that duel from start to finish...they are the only set of coasters that are never headed in the same direction at any point in time.

^ Dan IS the man. right on
Obviously SFKK marketing dept. never bothered to do their job and actually market the fact that they have the first and only pure dueler
Because they enter the station in opposite directions? How thrilling! I'm sure marketing that would get people flocking to the park in droves.

BGT/A advertised Gwazi as the longest dueling coaster in the Southeast....until they stopped dueling about a month or so into operations. Then it was billed as a "double" wooden coaster. Put The Sistas together with LeSourdsville's Eagle and you have the beginnings of a nice park...oh, and maybe add in ZPippin since it never got a new home. A double CCI and two Millers...all you'd need is a carousel! ;)
^The two I'd happily take were the ones from Myrtle Pavilion (no idea what happened to their Haunted Hotel) and Erieview's - another fabulous two-story job that I believe is still on-site (at Conneaut, IIRC). If someone wanted to put together a park full of used rides from defunct parks, there'd be no shortage in quantity or quality available. Still a shame about the Twins...although I'll miss Stella much, much more.
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
I always get them mixed up but the one with the first drop pointed north was surely the better of the pair, if only for that big second drop that replicated the extreme backseat air of the first drop.

I don't know why Nate, but this statement had me laughing. :)

I did SFKK in 2006 after HW, and had mixed feelings about the place. Not a whole lot of atmosphere, but I loved Chang and GL.
Only Green Twin was open. Rode it and thought it was lame. Very forgettable, forceless and pretty boring. Rode it once and went back to Chang for a couple rerides. Would suck to see them torn down, but I wouldn't miss it much.
It's a horrible dead-end though, hopefully they rework the layout.
I wouldn't mind going back this summer for a few hours, get some more rides on Chang and GL, maybe get the flat rides I missed before.
Just thought I'd report...I rode by the park today, and I could have sworn that I saw Rainbow still standing, despite the recent rumor of its removal on Screamscape. Also, it is on the 2009 season park map, which further leads me to believe that Lance received some false information.

It's all in the presentation. The lift hills and first drops are also uniquely dueling - add it all up and you've got a marketable ride but you need talented people to 'sell' it - they should have hired a company like Robinson instead of trying to have their young inhouse staff do it who were blissfully unaware of eighties metal bands :)
When I was there for Midwest Storm a couple of weeks ago....I heard a few different things from upper management. One thing they all agree was the number to repair Mile High Falls and Twisted Twins was high. They have no budget at all for that part of the park.
However, they were hoping to get some money for next year to do something else with that part of the park.
I did ask a few about a new coaster in the works. Most just laughed and smiled.
As stated above by many, Twisted Twins is a lame/boring ride. Going into it I was expecting more because CCI had set the bar high. Just to note- the day I visited only one side was running so maybe with the "dueling" it is more exciting. Would I like to see it running? Yes. Do I think it makes or breaks the park? No.
The highlights of the park are easily Thunder Run and Greased Lightning. Too far a drive for myself to make yearly but one of these days I'll stop down again.
I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.
Yeah its almost unnoticeable that whole area. That park was really hard to like for me, and not just because that area was not open. They had massive waits for every ride there, besides greezed lightning. They did run two trains on Chang. They had one on T2, but that ride was an absolute abomination as far as a ride goes. Two attendants checking the ride restraints, and then working from front to back and having to walk back to create a longer wait. Thunder Run had one train, which by the way is this standard. They also had a slow crew.
It seems like the park that chuck talked about seems like a far different one that i experienced this year. Parking however, really is actually good and the price is decent.
Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore
We had fun at SFKK. I don't think I would drive to this park as single destination park but it was a great day on the way to Holiday World.
BTW the parking was $6 and is charged by the fairgrounds. I have parking on my season pass from SFA so I was able to get it refunded at GR without any hassle.
