2008 Holiday World announcement

Paula just posted on the HoliBlog that the annoucement for their 2008 addition(s) is going to be on Thurs, Sept 20 at 11 a.m.

I doubt that it is anything major. Especially since they haven't been hyping anything.

I'm not usually good with Paula's hints. But, she did say "slip" and "leak" in the post. So, if she's up to her normal antics, I'd guess it has something to do with water and/or Splashin' Safari. But, like I said, I'm usually horrible with her hints. :)

She also used the phrases each fall, and releasing. Not that those necessarily mean anything. ;)

Ohhhhh, Holiday World bought Demon Drop! That fits in the Halloween section, right? :)

I imagine they're getting one of those pirate ship rides for the Thanksgiving section. Themed like the Mayflower or something. Although they already have a ride in the Thanksgiving section with a nautical theme....

I wonder if they finally made their ROI on 2006 yet.

Perhaps they can get three swinging ships and finally get that Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria themed ride!*

But what does the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria have to do with Thanksgiving? Didn't the pilgrims come over on the Mayflower? So why not just name the swinging ship "The Mayflower"?

I brought up the Mayflower swinging ship the day we found out about Thanksgiving. I was sure we would see it last year along with the tilt-a-whirl, but maybe 2008 will finally bring the ride to Holiday World.....

"we always worry about leaks" could be a reference to a boat worrying about leaks?

Leaks? Well the bumper boat pond is notorious for leaking and has been rumored to be axed for years...maybe that's part of it. Other than that I'd look for a big attraction in Splashin Safari - maybe a water coaster then a flat ride somewhere else.

Still if you want to find out what HW is getting before the announcement ask the clerks at the gas station as in a small town they hear and know pretty much everything like how HW was going to add a "coaster going up in the woods" months before clearing started or the announcement was made for The Voyage.

I love those Thunder Bumpers! Easily the best ride at Holiday World minus the coasters. I love charging at my friends head on and consequently getting totally soaked with the resulting explosion of water.

Bond and I always had a blast on Thunder Bumpers (even though I always ended up with a wet rear) so I'd be sad to see it go. Actually one of the craziest rumors that was floating around several years ago was that they were going to take out Thunder Bumpers and replace it with a LoCoSuMo type ride.

A mid-level Splashin Safari addition along with a swinging ship in Thanksgiving does seem to be the most logical choice for 2008 upgrades.

However, I'm still hoping against hope that they add a B&M inverted in 4th of July. But truthfully, the next coaster I see them adding will be more family friendly...like a Gerstlauer spinning coaster or something.

Before they bought their Zero Gravity (Revolution) I had a idea to pull the Bumper
Boats and put a KMG Afterburner or Chance Revolution in it's place aptly named "Revolution"

Another idea I had was to switch the Scrambler and Spider as well as modify the names, so the Scrambler would be "Paul Revere's Midnight Ride" and the Spider renamed Black Widow.
But that would cost money and really do nothing.
