Why is Skyrush so rattley?

I recently rode Skyrush and I must say for its age it is rather disappointing of a ride because it has a terrible rattle. I have heard of no complaints about the rattle, yet comparing Furious Baco at Portaventura world, which many have complained online about, Furious Baco's was tolerable, and I had a backrow outboard seat. So the question is do people put up with the rattle? Or do people complain about the restraints enough to forget about the rattle

Counting down the days until I'm back at Cedar Point, the one and only place to be.

Actual photo of Skyrush:

Seriously though, I'm surprised at the sheer volume of opposite impressions of the ride lately. It can't suck and be good at the same time. That's just against the laws of nature.

Skyrush and P305 seem to be two of the most polarizing coasters. They’re both easily top 5 rides for me, but I’m probably an outlier because I like Togos and Drachen Fire.

Of all the complaints I’ve heard about Skyrush, it being “rattly” is a first.

I call it the Intamin grind. Millie even has a grind. No movement in the structure = rough ride eventually/headache. They don’t have those nice ball joints that B&M uses.

Those type of ‘ball and socket’ joints were first used on Mind Bender and Shock Wave in 1978 (as far as I know). Schwarzkopf said in an interview those were expensive (quality) constructions.

Note the extra roughness in steel structured wood coasters that aren’t taken care of well.

I don't know what that is, but if the track is good shape, and the wheels and springs are good, the ride is smooth. I've never found Millennium Force to be rough. Or "rattley."

Maybe we're defining rattle differently cause Millennium Force rattles and shimmies its way around just like every other Intamin I've ridden minus Pantheon which was glass smooth last time I rode it.

While the new restraints are an improvement, I still think Skyrush sucks because it's "rattley." I also know people who love it.

My theory is that it's because the trains are basically wing coaster trains and the seats outside of the wheel assemblies cause the entire row to oscillate during the ride. This is something that I've encountered on every B&M wing coaster too, but since those layouts are tame compared to Skyrush it's less prominent.

I guess I'm happy not noticing stuff like this. Probably helps that I tend to only make one, maybe two park trips per year and ride each coaster once.

Is there a difference between a Zamperla shimmy and an Intamin rattle?

I expressed my preference for basically any other coaster over Rip Ride Rocket by using a greater than symbol and everyone lost their minds.

Skyrush is definitely rattley. it’s not unbearable yet but I could see it going that direction

Several B&Ms have become so rattley that they’re unbearable. Dominator and Griffon are two examples I can think of off the top of my head.

Is it lack of wheel maintenance or track deterioration?

Superman at SFFT has become rattley as well. Why is that? B&Ms are so smooth when they are new.

My car got rattley after the catalytic converter was boosted and I had it replaced on the cheap. Have they looked at the catalytic converters on these things?
