Depending on what part of the country you're from, it's the same amount of syllables.

Let's all clap to the syllables and count out loud. Ready? Go!

Steel (Clap!) Ven (Clap!) Om (Clap!)

Steel (Clap!) Ven (Clap!) Geance (Clap!)

I'm from Ohio, and keep getting 3.

Gonch meant if you take off the "om" and replace it...well...magic happens.

I'm in Ohio, too and they're the same. But there are people who make "question" into 3 syllables, so I can see them doing the same with Vengeance

You mean it's not Ven-gee-yance?

Unlike most Rocky Mt coasters, it looks like they kept the full length of the original ride. Also a break run for 3 trains.

Too many 360 inversions IMO. I wonder why so many people claimed the giant loop on SOB was a gimmick, but these inversions aren't. Other than that, it looks great. Especially the high banked turns.

I'm I much bigger fan of the name now that I realized it's not pronounced Stee - el Ven-Gay-Awnce ...

Son of Beast was an all-wooden coaster except for the loop, and was billed as the only wooden coaster with an inversion. RMC coasters are steel and don't rely on only the inversions to market them. Every aspect of the rides are thrilling.

And with a twist of irony, the so-called "gimmick" on SoB was the only decent part.

About the name, if this was six flags, we'd be getting "The Snoopy Red Baron Coaster"

If it were Six Flags, it would either be Steel Mean Streak or Metallo: Ride of Mild Apprehension

It's interesting that here the name is emphasizing how the track is steel, while at Kings Dominion the new coaster's name is emphasizing the timber structure. With how many people refer to Gemini as a wood coaster, won't it create confusion having steel in the name of the park's largest wood-structured ride?

You're overthinking it.

The General Public doesn't care. As long as the ride is good.

Only the true "Connoisseurs" care. (But whatever you do, don't ask them. You don't want to go down that wormhole.)

Only 279 more days until my trip to cedar point. Woohoo!

Ahh, I'm going to have to go ahead and ask you to come in on Sunday, too...

@Mr. Six: I imagine what they're trying to do is distance it from Mean Streak's (exaggerated, IMO) reputation as "horribly rough." In the mind of most of CP's clientele, steel=smooth.

He will, as the height requirement has been confirmed to be 48 inches. Also, this without a doubt will be the best new ride of 2018 and possibly CP's best.

I stumbled across this today, and given the mini-thread about cheesy metal bar bands, I feel compelled to post it:

Is there any other coaster that has tiny bunny hop right at the bottom of the first drop? Looks like a lot of fun.

Lost Gravity in Walibi Holland has a smal hump after the first drop.

Well yes, you have a point there. If you compare this RMC conversion compared to some more recent others they did it is kinda a shame that all the inverions are 350barrelrolls.. I really liked those other kind of things RMC did , the roll that doesn't roll, 360 degree in the same direction but goes from one side to the next, or the inversion underneath the lifthill or that on with the diveloop-element

Maybe the conversion of Mean Streak was allready planned for many years and is because of that more "old school" RMC?

Doesn't read like "old school" to me. NTAG reads old school to me, and that's because it largely lacks the weird/wrong banking features they scattered all over later rides. SV feels like more of a megasized culmination of everything they've been building to with these conversions. And I guess, in that way, this is consistent with CP's build 'em bigger faster (sometimes) better mantra since the 80's.

ah yes, I rewatched the POV-rendering and indeed this one has some strange banking in the some curves.. but less extreme then other rides.. the last inversions underneath the whole supports looks amazing, almost like in a " tunnel"
