Instead of creams, gravy has always worked well for me. Which also answers Jeff's question above.

Tekwardo said:

There are plenty of affordable tight moisture wicking underclothes out there...

I disagree with that fundamentally as it conflicts with my "hang low, loose and free" credo.

I'm all for that except on days I'm going to spend hot, sweaty, and walking around outside all day with occasional douses of water.

Seems to be following a completely logical path to me.

As for the lack of female enthusiasts, I think they all got turned off when they found out that the men weren't staring at *them* longingly, rather at their plates of food, wondering "is she going to finish that?"

Crap. It looks like I will be in Hong Kong on that date. I love Kings Island and the itinerary looks awesome. Nice job Jeff. Have fun everyone.

FWIW, I wasn't super impressed by either HKDL or Ocean Park. Though I did ride my first looper at Ocean Park (Dragon) back when I was a wee lad.

I've never been to Ocean Park but in photographs the topography, the views, and the quirky rides look impressive. And the latest coaster, Hair Raiser (what a great name), looks like a great floorless with the added attraction of being built on the side of a hill.

If I'm in Hong Kong, HKDL and Ocean Park are afterthoughts.

^Thanks for the input Andy, RCMAC and Tekwardo. It does look like I will have a little free time on my hands, so you guys have inspired me to seek out a park while there. I'll get on RCDB and see what my options are!

My favorite part of Hong Kong was visiting my cousins and seeing the place my dad grew up, but for some reason, I don't think those will end up on your itinerary. We visited Macau by hydroplane boat, but the Victoria peak tram was closed so we didn't get to do that. I've heard it's "the touristy thing to do" in HK.

I have a stupid question. Does the policy for being part of a coaster club have to be $25 at least? This past season, I gave Jason Hammond an extra $5.00 for Great Ohio Coaster club because the yearly rate he wanted was only $20. I hope I'm not bothering anyone here.

Huh?

What difference does it make how much a membership costs?

Whatever deal you set up with Jason or GOCC is irrelevant in regards to how the membership is set up on here. You pay for a year at whatever rate the webmaster/owner sets it at......pretty straight forward stuff.

I think what Shawn Meyer is trying to ask is if there's a minimum membership amout required to be included in events like BeastBuzz, or any amusement park related events that are typically open to all members of a qualifying club. In other words, if joining a five dollar club won't get him the privilege of being invited to most events, then maybe a 25 dollar membership somewhere will.
So, I'm assuming that as a member of GOCC he realized that the going membership rate of 20 bucks wasn't going to cut it so he threw Jason another 5 bucks so he would qualify. While I'm sure that GOCC was happy to have the extra funds, and deservedly so, I think that's a weird way to do it. I mean, either your club qualifies or it doesn't, right?
My suggestion to him would be to keep whatever memberships out there that he'd like, but go ahead and join Coasterbuzz for the low price of 25 bucks to make sure he's able to take advantage of the benefits CBuzz has to offer. Then there's no question whatsoever.
If indeed that's what he was trying to ask...

Is BeastBuzz going to be open to GOCC?

Regardless of what someone paid, an event lists what clubs are accepted. I personally didn't see anything that said BeastBuzz was open to anything other than Coasterbuzz, but I didn't look very hard.

Yes it is, for some. (me)

I've been reminded that Shawn Meyer was at BeastBuzz last time anyway, so however he got in, he qualified. Maybe he's a Cbuzz member already.

Shawn?
