Next RMC Transformation

It was the use of the Raven trains that I was remembering.

They used one of Raven's trains, but had to modify the rear axle to handle the wild moves of the Voyage. So the single original Voyage train (the other 2 were sold to Darien Lake for Predator) was shortened to 6 cars to match the length of the Raven train; later they got a whole new train, and went back to 7 cars per train for Voyage, while Raven got it's red train back. I think that's what happened at least...

Unfortunately, my butt seems to regenerate at an exponential rate.

I'm kind of curious to see how many more RMC re-tracks we'll honestly see before they decide to just go all in on their own coaster designs. I am of the mind that we will see many more original RMCs in the future than we will re-dos.

Then you'd be having more than one at the same time! Okay, all jokes aside, I think RMC is on their way to world domination. They have Intamin's airtime and intensity combined with B&M comfort and consistency...prime example of having the best of two worlds. I can imagine favorite wooden coasters lists changing a lot in the years to come.

I really want to make some noise and make a crack at Tyler's post about them and their virginity, but I'll hold it back. Anyways, sitting in the front, Mean Streak really isn't insanely rough and painful like pother woodies, but it's a combination of that and the fact that it's so boring. I still want to get off when I ride it, but it's not because it's too painful; it's because it feels like it's doing nothing but going over a couple low to the ground hills and turning. I think I'd rather drive a car (even though I don't have a driver's license yet).

Back to the RMC transformations....anyone here riddden GA Cyclone this year? The work they did on the ride last year was a phenomenal improvement...but the ride re-do was only about 1/3 complete. If they continued (hard to say with ALL the projects they had going this year)....the next bit of trackage work would have included THE hill.

I'll be riding Memorial Day Weekend, Gator, and I'm excited. It was running great last year. From what I've seen, maybe on screamscape or somewhere, RMC did not do the last 2/3 of the ride, but it did get a traditional re-tracking.

On a typical re-tracking, does the designing company come back in to do it?

I have never gotten SFoG's Cyclone. Granted, I've only managed 3 laps on 4 different trips, but I never got anything but a rough, painful, washboard of a ride. Am I doing something wrong?

No, in fact, I'd been skipping it until this re-tracking. Otherwise it was rought and sucked majorly. Last year, though, it was really great.

My best rides (granted, several to many years ago now) have always come in the last row. I remember telling the story of landing mostly in the lap of a young man, about 9 or 10, who decided to board with me and sit to my right. I think the roughness over the years, and the hill brake being set fairly hard, mostly put a stop to that kind of thing. But at one point, GA Cyclone had *a hill* on par with Cyclops, Raven, and KW's JackRabbit.

I don't know about you guys - but when I rode Mean Streak, it was very shaky. If they (RMC) were to transform it into a hybrid, it would make the whole thing so much smoother. I'd be all for it!
