Although completely different, how do you find the intensity of Skyrush compared to Voyage? I haven't been on Skyrush myself.

To me, the directional changes in Skyrush are more intense and abrupt than Voyage. I've only ridden Skyrush once, and it was at night, but I would sum it up as "disorienting mayhem."

That's not to say I prefer Skyrush; far from it, indeed. Beyond that superficial analysis, the two rides are vastly different, however.

I think Skyrush with OTSR's would box you in the ears pretty severely. There are a number of very quick twists on the Skyrush which are awesome with a lapbar (when it's not busy destroying your ambulatory function) but would be brutal if there were anything anywhere near your head.

I actually think just pulling down the speed a couple ticks on SkyRush would help a lot but I already see the crowd gathering with pitchforks and rotten tomatoes after dropping that comment. :)

You see well, Matt. Intamin could also just figure it out, and then we'd never need to 'fork you. ;)

You couldn't have put Toros restraints on skyrush. There's no floor for half the seats.

Well, I guess what I meant was more the shape of the foam bar. It contoured along the thigh better.

I +1'd this, but then realized I needed to add that we've had this experience....it's I-305 (and for me at least, too similar to what I got from Maverick). Now whose ducking the tomato barrage? :-)

On my first Skyrush ride (which was a winged seat in the back), the fear/pain of the bar got to me and was my central focus through the ride (I had read these forums beforehand though, so it could have had some psychological impact). The pain wasn't extreme....it was more of a fearful sensation. There was this unrealistic but slight panicky feeling of "This bar is going to snap my legs and I'm going to fall out."

My second ride was in the center seat, of the very front. All the fear and discomfort of the restraint went away. It was just another gem in Hershey's line-up. I still prefer Intamin's 2-across though; they just seem lighter and faster.

In summary, if they open Skyrush up without changing the restraint, I'd recommend trying the very front / center -- It worked for me at least. Otherwise, because of the extreme forceful airtime, I think this ride needs more contoured lap bars that distribute the force over a larger surface area on the legs. If that's still painful for some, maybe soft, stretchable vests would help. RCMAC ready to spear me in 3...2...1...

Do you think you could put Toro's restraints on there or would it need a floor for half the seats? Or Maverick.

Now, Jeph, I would never hurt you.

I really am the only one here that doesn't mind Skyrush, aren't I?

^^^Nope, I was pretty fond of Skyrush myself...at least the 2nd ride.

And of course only joking, RC. :) For someone that likes Skyrush as is, I figured you wouldn't even like to think of a more restrictive vest being added.

Tyler, I meant to say "pear me," as in throw a pear at me...which I would then eat. Some pears are pretty delicious. I don't like when they get too ripe and gritty though.
