The rides that they remove seem to be rides that I really like. The parks old giant Ferris wheel was awesome. Now it's gone. Old Mill was pretty freekin' cool. Now it's Garfield's Nightmare, a ride that I used as a punishment when I was babysitting at the park. Pittfall was known as one of enthusiast's favorite drop tower. Gone.

I can't think of anything they can put in that will be better.

Maverick. ;)

I am really disappointed now that I didn't get to ride Pittfall this past summer (my first visit ever to Kennywood). It looked great, but the capacity seemed low and the line was LONG.

With all that they had to experience there, we didn't have time. Hopefully they replace this with a high-capacity drop tower...world's tallest floorless tilting gyro drop...drool.

I doubt that they will replace a drop tower with a drop tower, but I don't know for sure.

A 251-foot tall aluminum Christmas tree with the world's largest rotary color wheel honed in on it.

They are not getting another coaster, nor will it be another drop tower.

A ride that would fit nicely in that footprint- 'teh seeker wind'. They seem to be all the rage these days.

Close. We're painting it silver and billing it as the world's largest Festivus pole.

There will be feats of strength and airing of grievances nightly.

Kennywood made a statement early on that the ride would be better than Windseker.

Kennywood never made that statement. It was made by someone outside the company.

While pleasant enough, Windseeker is not really a golden standard to compare other rides to. Regardless if that came from a legit source, that statement doesn't exactly amp me up. :)

I sit corrected

That being said, the way he said it, it sounded like he was aware of what Kennywood was looking for in their next ride.

It could just be an enormo Star Flyer.

Regardless of the ethos behind that quote, a chair swing on a 380ft high stick would definitely fit in the "better than Windseeker category" in my book.

He was aware of what Kennywood was looking for. If they enitre interview was listed, it would have been understood better by the public much clearer. IRM was not negating the Windseekers. IRM was referring to a more agressive style ride that was not in the neighboring marketplace.

Jeff, where's the +1 button for individual posts again(*)? kpjp gets post of the thread this time...

(*) I know the actual real arguments behind such a button and agree, but in this case I found myself wanting one.
