I would LOVE to get some quotes out of you guys who are unhappy with the ride's potential sale.
Super, maybe this will lead to a petition!
Hey, did you ever get that bran muffin I sent you?

I'm just glad Lori didn't let me chicken out. Pitt Fall was worth the scary ultra nervousness.
:) Glad you didn't chicken out. My daughter rode it twice last week when she was there. I hope it's still operating when we go next month. I definitely would like one last ride on it.
Pitt-fall go down go boom.
I like Pittfall, but wouldn't really MISS it as long as Kennywood replaces it with a better freefall-style ride. Even just replacing it with a more modern Intamin Gyro Drop would be cool -- that WOULD solve the "no good view on a few sides" problem, but probably doesn't present a new different enough ride to justify it.

I can hear the teenager rumors now...
"They had to get a new seat holder because the other one broke off and rolled down the hillside with people still locked in. It rolled into the river, and everyone died."
lol
Have the seats tilt outward or something, and then it could be marketad as "new".

^At least now we know who to blame when that rumor becomes a "widely-believed fact"... ;)
It wouldn't be the first rumor that I've started. Remember the one about Mantis becoming a floorless?

I thought Pittfall was when the Pirates played the Indians this weekend...
My author website: mgrantroberts.com
That would be "Pittfail". (Or is that when the Panthers miss the Final Four for the Nth time?)

I really love the old-school Intamin drops. They are far more intense than the S&S towers. Everything from the Demon Drop to the Drop Tower at KI still make me highly nervous, but in a good way. There is nothing more nerve-wracking than those few seconds before any of those towers drop. :)
The Demon Drop makes me highly nervous, too, but I'm sure for very different reasons. ;) (Btw, I can't reference Demon Drop any more without hearing Air Supply in my head. :) )
Another thing that's been cool about Pitt Fall is that it's part of the park's horizon view when you come across the Rankin Bridge. As soon as you see it along with PR, you get all excited because you're almost there. (Or maybe that's just me, but still.) Hopefully there will be another highly visible ride to replace it.

I used to think that, Carrie, but I haven't seen Kennywood from the Rankin Bridge in a few years. Are they ever going to finish that @#$! thing?

The new Post Gazette article is out today. I posted it to the news story. Didn't realize there was a discussion here:

Interesting quotes in there about a potential replacement ride. Apparently it will be "better than the Windseeker". Zing! ;)

Among painful sport references, while they are at it finish the Mon Fayette expressway. This is getting more press than usual for something that isn't an official announcement that isn't a coaster.
I've been surprised at the amount of news coverage Kennywood gets in general here in Pittsburgh. It seems when anything happens at the park, all the major news outlets report on it. Even when it's something relatively minor (such as this)

Hope whatever takes its place is better than a Windseeker. Continues the pretty much trend of to get something new Kennywood has had to subtract.
I think second generation Intamin Drops are superior to any kind of tower ride, so this is a bummer. Any speculation as to why the park chose to remove it?
