Thanks was nice of the boys to give the park extra money after the fact.

The Whip looked to be in pretty bad shape. Did I hear right when the owner said they could get it going for about $6,000?
That seems awful low for what appeared to be massive damage.
I enjoyed the show very much. It's was sad to see all those classic rides in such bad shape from the flood.
You can clearly see how the river envelopes the park in this aerial photo. You may have to adjust it one turn to the left to see it better.
Isn't the Discovery Channel basic cable for pretty much everyone?

It's on the History Channel, but I have "instead of screwing around with an antenna" cable, not basic cable. :) It's the first 20 or so channels (plus a few others) for $8-10/mo. I don't watch a lot of TV to begin with, and the only channel I really miss is Comedy Central, but I can watch the Daily Show and Colbert on their websites.

Not to mention that I don't like watching anything that's not HD.
I thought I was the only one who did this. I sometimes miss or forget about things I might have liked to see because it's on a channel that doesn't do (or we don't get in) HD.

Whenever she switches over to the local news, everyone is stretched and looks fat until I rip the remote out of her hand and switch to the correct channel. :)

My wife insists she cannot tell the difference between HD and non-HD channels. But hey at this point, I am married to her and we have kids, so what can I do?
Yes and yes.

Mine's bigger.
For now :)
I'm eventually going to a 55" LED, putting the 42 in the bedroom, and moving the 32 to the basement.
I'm looking to upgrade my L/C/R speakers with either Energy or MartinLogan Motion series. I'm leaning toward to MartinLogan's because I love the highs and separation in the sound. Plus I have a ML Dynamo sub, so tying it all together, brand-wise is always nice (but not necessary).
Currently, I'm running Athena for everything, except the ML sub, from a Denon AVR-1610 receiver.
I hate buying movies on DVD, if they can be had on Blu-Ray. I guess I'm spoiled.
Personally, I'm thinking about giving up on cable altogether when my cable company does its big "digital upgrade" here. They're hell-bent on making all my digital receivers worthless with their service, requiring me to get a dumb box for each tuner that outputs NTSC. If Discovery and A&E networks ultimately make all their programming available on-line, what do I really need cable for?
(And why is the cable company so insistent on encrypting the lower tier channels that represent the LOWEST level of service that they are willing to sell? They stopped scrambling those analog channels long ago; why not do the same for the digital channels? I am not looking forward to having six cable decoders in my living room...)
