TV Heads Up - American Pickers visits old amusement park

Not sure how many of you are familiar with the show American Pickers. It's about two guys, Mike & Frank, who travel from state to state looking through junkyards, barns, attics, etc. looking for hidden gems. It can be pretty fascinating what they find at times.

The new episode premiers Monday (12-6) at 9pm on History Channel and the previews say they visit a century old amusement park to clear out a sprawling collection.

It doesn't say which amusement park but if it's 100+ years old that narrows it down a bit. My guess is maybe Geauga Lake. Anyway, it might be interesting to see what these guys find.

I doubt it's Geauga Lake, There's really nothing left.

The U-Verse description on my TV says:

"The guys visit a century-old Pennsylvania amusement park and find vintage banners..."

Bushkill? Conneaut? Kennywood? Lakemont? Waldameer?

What about Rocky Springs? They can come to my storage, take all they want. Lift chain parts, signs, ride parts, even the Q sign from Avalanche Run. Wonder what they would give me?

According to the partial description on this page, it's Bushkill Park.

Seen some road signage for Bushkill on my more recent travels through PA, prob around '06, but never did get to the park itself. The park never did recover from some disaster - I want to say it was one of the floods (?).

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Floods related to Hurricane Ivan in '04, and another in '05 apparently. I guess there were some ownership and tax lien issues too, from what I've read.

I like how you did that in alphabetical order. So organized.

Almost like I was looking at some kind of list...

You should check out coasterimage.com. They do all that in map form. Also, there are a lot of pictures of cups.

Hi

I heard some stuff about the guy that runs that site though. He's old, crabby, and kind of a big jerk.

I saw a picture of him once, and he looks like Gargamel from the Smurfs.

with a woman's leg draped over his shoulder.

But he's hung like a horse.
