Any construction updates yet?

I have to believe that there is some kind of major construction going on now.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Believe what you want... it's still just a bunch of (nicely leveled) dirt.

If that is true, I doubt it is going to open on time(if at all) next spring.

A 95 foot tall, 2,100 foot long coaster could probably be built pretty fast.

^That, and it's from Premier Rides...and they never have problems or delays!

True! As a matter of fact, Chiller had a perfect operation record before it was removed.

IMO, Premier's "track-record" has gotten better and better in regards to opening on time and operating reliably (Myrtle Beach ride notwithstanding)...I'll bet Universal has done some real soul-searching about the decision to go with Maurer following the amazing success of the RotM rides.

bill, just realized he needs P-Keg to complete his stateside Premier collection (and a trip to Linnanmäki would round out the entire set)... I <3 Premier Rides :)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

^Ya know, I thought *something* was weird in that. I guess rcdb (Duane) credits Premier since the original water-coaster track still stands? Hmmmm.....

Yes, part of the Keg is still Premier.

Jeff from PR was at the GOCC holiday party. They don't know when it will be open. They're optomistic it will be open before ACE's Convention the 3rd week of June.

They haven't even started pouring footers yet. I'm kind of curious as to what's holding everything up.

I agree.

Not sure why they closed the turnpike cars early to prep for this ride.

Because if they'd closed them a month later, we'd be saying this same stuff in January.

I heard that the reason for the delay was because after they demo'd the turnpike car ride, they planted some coffee beans in that spot, and they need to wait for the coffee bean plants to grow so they can offer the "fully caffeinated, double-shot adrenaline espresso…on rails" aspect of the ride.

They shut down the Turnpike so that they could use the steel and copper they recovered from the old ride to help manufacture and/or finance the new one. :)

Okay, probably not. But they did strip and collect everything that was worth collecting from the Turnpike; that was obvious during my last visit.

Other then the initial building of Steel Phantom, what other Kennywood rides had construction issues.

Track and supports have started arriving on site. There are a few pictures posted on the main page of Kennywood Connection... you'll need to hit refresh to view them all.

It's about time.

Have they even poured footers yet?
