Kennywood to Announce Wednesday

Unlike Cedar Fair they sure haven't said much of anything about what they are doing.

Sounds like a new coaster to me :)

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Yep it sure does. 2010 is going to be a great year for new rides.

Gee, it sure does sound like a coaster. Of course it remains to be seen if enthusiasts will see eye-to-eye on if it's a worthy addition. I know the purists would like to see some new wood (it's only been, what?...a few decades? lol).

Sounds good... Looking forward to the announcement. Another coaster can't be a bad thing no matter what it is. I am sure it'll be a winner.

Well the last one was Exterminator. I would not consider this a winner.

My question is...Where are they gonna put it?

The Exterminator is a lot of fun. If you can get a pretty good spin going, I find it really hard not to giggle the entire time.

But I'm with crazy horse, where would they put it? There's not a lot of space at that park. Does anyone know if they still have that deal going where they will expand their land when the expressway is built? (or something like that)

Gotta be honest... I'm excited about this announcement. Especially since I just moved to Pittsburgh last weekend and now live 10 minutes from the park :)

Where are they gonna put it?

Didn't they just remove a bunch of trees between Racer and the flume?

People aren't going to like where they put.

I can see the outrage if they decide to pull a classic coaster out.

From what I gathered at KennyKon, Turnpike was the real estate involved...

...of course, I thought they'd announced on 09/09/09 at 09:09am... :)

I thought the major expansion plans involved the old railroad yard behind the Jack Rabbit/ Racer/ ect. ... and the properties across the road (old Ponderosa, ect)... at one point I thought there was talk of building a hotel there.....

Anyway... wouldn't it be cool if they built a ravine coaster behind those groves???

I was dissapointed when they built the Phantom that a lot of the wooded surroundings was lost on the T Bolt, particularly in the ravine of the last hill. A true ravine coaster into the woods would be awesome!

Eh, that would be ok. So long as they leave the gas station sign where the price is always "Fun Fun Fun"! :)

Hopefully they will keep the turnpike, kids love that ride.

If they get rid of it, I'll miss the "clicking" sound of those cars as I emerge from the tunnel!

My kids hated their turnpike. They said that their was no gas pedal and that they didn't have much control. Granted this is from a 10 & 13 year old. But then again that is the target audience for a ride like this.

From what I heard the expansion is a few years away. All the clues from people in the park, indicate the Turnpike and possibly the dacing waters fountain will be removed to make way for the new attraction.

The Turnpike, while great at the time, has been a wimp since the electric cars were installed in 1989. Its no fun if you can't bump. I am sure Kennywood will put on a premier event at the conference.
