I am sure Kennywood will put on a premier event at the conference.
Let the record reflect, Agent Johnson nailed it.

I thank KW for not holding their rides at ransom, and not blackmailing their valued guests. I will visit regularly because of this.
Would you stop visiting if they did add a VQ or FOL-type system?

Nothing means nothing, Moosh. And your italics are still nice. So anyway, all these posts and nobody has snickered about the 50 mph high speed launch? It sounds like they're packing a lot of elements into 2100 feet. It would take longer to recite it all than to ride it.
RGB, I'm more surprised that no one has complained that this coaster will launch right into brakes...isn't that all we heard about Ring Racer?

Regularly, Gonch.
I didn't mean for it to sound that harsh though. You can do a shout-out to KW in support of a line cut option, and I can give a shout out to the same park thanking them for not subjecting their guests to that kind of negative experience.

^More parks could learn from that... ;)

A coaster would be nice, I suppose, but I'm still waiting for season passes to show up.Followed by some kind of FOL access so I don't have to wait 25 minutes while they run one train on Phantom. (and to help with the crowds season passes would draw, of course :) )
Looks like I might be getting at least 1/2 of that wish. :)
From an article in today's Tribune-Review:
"This fall, Kennywood will begin offering season passes for the first time, Borman said."
Somehow I missed the part about the holding break and "cliffhanger" element after the launch. kpjb mentioned the holding break in the other thread and then it's explained in that article. That sounds pretty cool.

Look what ride kennywood has just put up for sale... http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=1280
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That top spin was an epic fail as far as I can tell. Rarely seems to have more than ten people on it. Swing Around was sweet though, I miss it.
Can anyone confirm that seasons passes are in fact coming? The quote is a little odd.
This fall, Kennywood will begin offering season passes for the first time, Borman said.
This fall? Will they start selling them this fall for next year?
I am both excited and nervous for the season pass. On one hand I love the idea of hitting the park before grocery shopping at the water front and being able to hit the park when it's slow and leave if it's too busy. On the other hand I worry about the crowds it will draw.
Another reason for removing that Top Spin might be that height requirement. KW had three rides with minimum height greater than 48" and that appears to be three too many. The others are the Enterprise (Volcano) and the Thunderbolt. The trend today is to have a 48" minimum height for major thrill rides and coasters. If that is true we might eventually see the end of the Volcano as well. Regarding the Thunderbolt, that will probably remain as is for a while but I could see another addition to it down the road to make it into a super woodie with 125' plus drops especially if the new highway doesn't come. The NAD trains are heavy and have long cars possibly making them too wearing on the track for a coaster with 65 MPH speed. Replacing them for this reason would be the end of Thunderbolt as an ACE classic but it would mean a 48" minmum height and single riders permitted.
Now the immediate question becomes, what new flat ride should be added for the 2011 season now that there is room for one? Another possibility for the vacated space is relocating an existing flat ride there to provide some of the space needed to rebuild the Turnpike elsewhere in the park.

I wish someone in the U.S. would build a Huss Jump, giant or regular sized. You hear that KW?

Part of the problem with the King Kulauha (Top Spin) was the lame program that was run on it. There simply wasn't enough of that heartline spinning that this ride is known for. Instead, the program appeared to be designed to make use of the water fountains in front of the ride to put riders in position to be soaked. When the water was off, the program didn't make sense with all of that hovering without spinning.
I remember that the Wipeout at KW was also lame compred to the one at Waldameer. The one at the Erie park is run as it should be and I am more than happy to ride the one there now that KWs has been removed.
As for water on rides, I say this should be confined to the genuine water rides. Log Flumes, Shoot the Chutes, and Whitewater rides are intended to get you wet and that is one of the main reasons why people ride them.

Whipeout nearly killed me back in 2001. The program ended with a straight flat spin, I swear I bruised most of my ribs.
