Cedar Fair Entertainment Company today reported that it has reached an agreement with United Media to bring the PEANUTS characters to five more of its parks for next summer. Canada’s Wonderland, near Toronto; Kings Dominion, in Doswell, Va.; Carowinds in Charlotte, NC; Kings Island near Cincinnati, Ohio; and California’s Great America will welcome the lovable PEANUTS characters to their parks in 2010.

^^^ Yes, that's true. Sometimes there are so many kids around the characters that you can barely walk through the immediate area. On some light crowd days it seems like there are more people surrounding the Peanuts characters than in the rest of the park combined.
My mother (1946-2009) once asked me why I go to Magic Mountain so much. I said I feel the most alive when I'm on a roller coaster.
2010 total visits: SFMM-9, KBF-2
2010 total ride laps: 437
( :( )
I saw it coming, and had plenty of time to let it sink in, but this still sucks.

Moosh is probably the only person here that I would trust enough to give me a hug. :)

I figured it would have gone the other way but I assume Nick wanted more than what it's worth for the license. Nick has gone from having a large share of the market to having Universal and one maybe?
A lot of people have talked (complained) that there needs to be consistency across the chain, including the former Paramount parks. So then why expect CF to manage two licensing agreements to market two separate sets of characters in the parks. And you know it would be prohibitively expensive to change all the current Peanuts parks over to Nick.
I'd add something, but you can already read my list of a 1001 reasons why I think this is a bad move in this thread.
Not jumping in on Q-bot (or VQ of some kind) is the biggest oversight that CF is currently making.
The mistake of dropping Nick is mere peanuts (pun intended) compared to the mistake of not having Q-bot in their biggest parks years ago.
