Hersheypark announces Fahrenheit, a new Intamin coaster with a 97-degree drop, vertical lift and 2,700 feet of track.
Visit the official Hersheypark site.
...but the capacity and track length are my 2 pet-pieves as others mentioned as well. Maybee number 12 will finally be the B&M Hyper I've been dreaming about for Hershey.....
Why won't hershey build a nice long hyper already ... it fit their market perfectly.
Very disappointed. I thought this year would finally be the year that put Hershey on the coaster map.
But back to Farenheit... like others have said, the 800 or so pph (peeps per hour) capacity is the only thing that I question. But I agree... their operations are good (despite what the nay-sayers may think)... the only slow loading coaster really is Comet and that is because of the dreadful belt / restraint situation rather than the crew.... so it may not be that much of a problem after all.
If it is a problem... just go on HOT days when everyone is packing the BoardWalk and it shouldn't be too bad on the rides. (Hmmmmm... perhaps I sold the Board Walk short... I am not a water park person, but if it can keep the other lines down on the coasters, I say "BUILD MORE SLIDES!")
