OK, I was thinking energy, not force, and even then I guess it would depend on whether or not you were in a frictionless vacuum.

No, I didn't. Can someone link to where this is described?

I don't quite understand why they're adding such a similar coaster to Storm Runner -- both include high speeds, nice inversions, quick turns... I guess it kind of seems like Intamin overkill.

Though 97 degrees is pretty ridic.

Since it makes more sense here anyway, I'll paste my response to the "other" forum thread...LOL!

I almost think this is another Scream! Does Hershey really need any more explosive (and *expensive*) thrill rides? I figured they had that market pretty much cornered in their region...

If I were the one running Herco, I probably would have purchased a flat ride package, or something more along the lines of Spinning Dragons (i.e., a Gerstlauer or M-S spinner, the Reverchon type being too similar to the mouse they already have).

Disappointed? Heck no! But I do kinda think they may be spending more than necessary by "over-capitalizing" on rides...

It's a sweet new roller coaster, why are people complaining, they've never even rode it. If you don't want it I'll take it in my backyard. The GP don't even know who Intamin is.
I can't believe people aren't excited over this ride. Too many roller coasters in Hershey Park, are you kidding me? So long as they're all quality rides like this one, I say keep them coming!Even if this is like Storm Runner (a comment I don't really understand), the style of ride is so fun, I wouldn't care. One ride can alleviate the line for the other- people queued for Fahrenheit won't be in line for Storm Runner. The more coasters, the merrier.I just made my first ever trip to Cedar Point, and Maverick was my favorite ride there (and my wife's favorite by far). I'm happy to see a similar ride locally now, although they're hardly duplicates. I hope Hershey Park puts in some ground decorations as was done for Maverick; having them whiz by your head at speed really heightened the experience I thought.

Why can't Intamin figure out an easy way to move multiple trains at once in the station? Disney figured that out 30 years ago with Space Mountain and as far as I know... had little to no problems and it doesn't break down too often! The DL, TDL and HKDL versions run 12 trains on a 3450 feet using ONE station and air gates. Stacking? One train wait before the station, but that's it!

Heres what I see in this coaster. A GREAT COASTER FOR HERSHEY, THE SMARTEST CHOICE THEY COULD HAVE MADE RIGHT NOW and SINCE HERSHEY IS ADDING NEARLY EVERY YEAR instead of many parks remove two and add one attraction. THE 800PPH will not be a issue after opening season.

Honestly, Sans Hyper, Hershey will have the most diverse and unique set of coasters in the country.

Go, Sweetest park in America! GO!

It's a sweet new roller coaster, why are people complaining, they've never even rode it.

Good question.

What a strange week. Earlier in the week some people were doing all they could to defend one park chain that announced that it was CLOSING a 119 year old park (closing the ride side and keeping a water park is still closing an AMUSEMENT park)... now we have folks who are complaining about another park ADDING a new coaster... saying it is too similar to another coaster in the park (or worse, saying it is too similar to another coaster 6 1/2 hours to the west).

Why do I have the sneeking suspision that if the rolls were reversed, the complaints would be reversed? If Hershey announced it was removing even one coaster at the expense of the water park, and Geauga Lake was adding a coaster half the size of Fahrenheit, the same people would be condeming Hershey as evil incarnate, while at the same time be praising CF for adding the greatest coaster since the invention of tubular steel track.

For those of you who are the experts on this, where exactly at Hershey is this going? I was surprised in that I could not find the location on the Hershey site (or maybe i just missed it...)

I'm a bit surprised that Hershey is putting in another ride which is essentially the same type as Storm Runner. not that I mind; I just find it interesting.

It's going where the Western Chuteout dry slides used to be, which will be very close to Storm Runner.
If Fahrenheit is basically the same ride as Storm Runner, then aren't Comet, Wildcat and Lightning Racer all basically the same ride too? They're all made of wood, you get pulled up a hill by a chain lift, you go up and down hills and around turns. Two of them even have the same trains. Same old, same old!

Seriously, I wonder how the ride is going to be oriented. You do have some terrain to work with there, as there is quite a drop from the 3-D theatre down to the entrance to Tidal Force. It seems natural to make the top hat appear more prominent, but I also think they should provide a great view from the midway of the Norwegian Cheese Doodle* or whatever it's called. That will be something watching trains zip through there.
