Kara Dhuse, a 17-year old from Roosevelt Park, MI, rode Shivering Timbers, the mile-long wooden roller coaster at Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon, for the 1,000th time on Sept. 15. It was the amusement park's last day for the 2002 season.

Sheesh... don't they have anything better to report on in Michigan? ;)
Congratulations Kara! Sorry we couldn't be there, but hey we were there for 500 and 800 :). As for the off season, are you going to be riding Magnum in front your TV again?

Well done! Do you keep a diary or what? If you don't mind my asking, does it go something like this "June 23, lap 675, great one, better than the last but not as good as this morning. I think a wheel in the last car needs to be greased some more." ;)
Maybe when I'm in the States I'll drop by. Say for your 2,000th ride? :)
Did anyone catch the title of the story in the Tribune? LMAO!

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers.

Very nice article Kara, and a great way to end the season. So what are you shooting for next year? Besides Drummer Boy, that is.
Is that your senior picture in the article?? I expected one of you on the track, or with Timbers in the background!
