^^Your assuming there will be a bridge. Just because there will be a splash zone, doesn't mean it will be a bridge. However, if it ends up being a bridge, I'm sure they'll take the necessary precautions.

Given whatever height/shape/size/power of the sploosh being created, couldn't you just set a bridge (or whatever it's going to be) further from the point of impact to compensate and not having spectators launched into Evansville? It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to figure out where safe placement would be.

Call me crazy but the first thing I thought when I saw that the ride manufacturer was Intamin was that there will be a future home for a mid-size Rocket Coaster at a Southern Indiana park near you in the future. The business relationship has now been established!!! Great addition though. Following HW's progress for me falls under the amusement park fan side of me, not necessarily just the coaster enthusiast angle. They are in the business of fostering a well-rounded amusement park experience for people of all ages and they are doing an amazing job of continuing that. I'm guessing a Master Blaster style water coaster maybe in the mix for SS at some point? Will, Mrs. Koch, Paula and the gang are quite the trend setters/innovators lately, god love them.....

That sounds like a major feat. Two boats moving in harmony- nothing minor about that!

Don't worry Coaster Buffs! I WILL visit Holiday World again someday, as soon as they build a new Coaster! (Wood or Steel) The last time I visited Minnesota was in 1989 for the ACE Summer Conference at Valleyfair!, so I'm looking forward to riding all the new Coasters they've opened since then. (Not to mention the rides at Mall of America!) :)

The best thing about this trip is, the Airfare is :)FREE:)!!! (My Prayers were answered on the Waldameer Trip!)

I'm confused about one issue though:
How exactly are the folks in Splashin' Safari going to access this ride? Looking at the park map, I don't see any obvious pathway to get there. Will there be a dedicated, isolated path going over/around Thanksgiving?

If I remember my HW/SS geography correctly, I am guessing the path will go under Voyage utilizing the big "cut-out" in the lift hill and line up with the pathway that lies between Kima Bay and the Bahari River.

Not sure about that. One side rises while the other side drops. Ever seen an inclined railway work? It's kinda like that, I imagine.

A suggestion for the Splash Zone:

Assuming it is a bridge-type zone, I remember being at one park (SFKK maybe?) where they had a "hut" with a plexiglass window setup in the middle of the bridge for those who didn't want to get wet but still wanted to see the wave. It was great.

IMO, seeing that huge wall of water coming at you while standing on the bridge is quite the experience. It's usually more exciting than the ride itself.

If i remember correctly, WOF has access to their chutes from both the water and dry park via seperate entrances. I could be mistaken, but it also seemed like they alternated boats depending on which park -wet or dry - the riders came from.

Also, I don't think this is HW's first relationship with Intamin as some are proclaiming. Isn't the rapids ride also an Intamin? Hopefully this doesn't mean a rocket coaster is next, but I would gladly take a mini hyper.

Both the rapids ride and log flume are O.D. Hopkins models.

The irony is that as a musician, I'm always used to writing "chord." I'm aware of the difference, just had a slip. Let the musical puns ensue...

Normally I'm all for puns...but lately all of mine have fallen flat.

Put me in the " meh" column. I have ridden only Snake River Falls @ CP, and that was only once.
