Have you ever rode in the rain?

Last year the whole class (8th grade) went to then SFO and it started raining at 10 in the morning and when we left at 6 it was still raining but as soon as we got back on the freeway you guessed it it stopped raining. It was so cold that day everyone was in shorts but lucky for us all the roller coasters were open except Raging Wolf Bobs and Roadrunner Express (was not even open yet).

I rode Kennywood's Thunderbolt in the rain last August (8 days left for the Phantom), and it was awesome! I didn't expect a lot from the coaster, but it packed a punch that the video didn't really show. That goes to show you, you can't judge a coaster by its video.

One day at PKI like the second to last weekend, and was like 40 degrees. Anyway I rode Son of Beast and the Racers, can`t remember what else. The rain really I had a heavy coat on and gloves and was still cold and wet, but I enjoyed every minute of the day as everything was walk on. I was only there about an hour. I would have stayed longer but they closed a full 2 hours early because of the bad weather.

I rode Goliath, and Villian in the rain, in the front seat to, main that hurt.

Millennium Force in HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY rain.
OUCH! I think I have permanent scars. (It was my first ride. NOT a good first ride to have!) Subsequent rides were much better!

I rode MF for the first time last May in the rain. It hurt like heck. I liked my rides a lot better later in the summer also. It seemed to have a lot more airtime in September than it did in May.

Corkscrew, Valleyfair, Rainy, Ouch

I have rode Top Gun, Adventure Express, Vortex, and the Racer all in the rain. It was miserable, but at the same time it was fun! I have also rode PKI's King Cobra with constant lightning strikes out in the distance. I was going to say something, but then who would not want to keep riding a coaster?

I have ridden a few coasters in the rain.
Desperado in the rain is very painful between the roughness of the coaster and the pain from the rain, it is definitely not a great ride in the rain.

Does anyone know how old this post is? It was posted by me with my OLD name a year back or so... How did this pop up???

On Screamin' Eagle last year, it started pouring, and I do mean POURING, and we got absoultely soaked from head to toe! It was one of best rides ever on the Eagle!

First time I rode "The Beast" at PKI. Pellets of rain smashing against my face. Painful and thrilling all at the same time. Getting off the ride and walking right on again and again. I went on Vampire an SlC at what is now SFBelgium, and one train broke down on the brake run in the heavyest rain I have ever seen, but we were in the station. Soon after it stopped raining the train came in and I was in the second to last row, as we proceeded up the lift we realized that SLC wheel covers act like buckets, and then we tilted up to lift angle to be met with a waterfall from all of the cars in front, It was like I'd just been swimming. Now thats a true water coaster!!

I rode Villain at (Geauga Lake) in the rain and it was awesome. It wasn't raining too hard. It was my first ride on it, I was in the back seat, and the air time was amazing. I liked that ride better than the one later in the day when it was dry.
