Will gas prices have a impact on the parks?

Gas was up to nearly $3.50 at one point near me.

My perception is that over the past three years or so, gas prices have gone up in sharp spikes of 50, 60, 80 cents within maybe a month. People were infuriated. But each time, over the next few weeks, prices would go back down 20 or 30 cents or so. People were relieved, but gas still cost much more than it did before the prices spiked.

I remember the first time I saw gas hit $2.00 was Memorial Day weekend 2005. Now it's about $2.85 around me. Maybe it's not $4.00, but it's still a 40 percent increase in a little over 2 years.

Gas around me is currently 2.53 a gallon, which is about 30 cents lower than a year ago this time.
Gas prices haven't seriously affected me this summer, but I haven't gone on any real long trips.

I recently had to do two roundtrips from Florida to Chicago by car.

To offset the cost of filling up the car, I made sure to cheapen the cost of the rest of the trip.

I only snacked most of the trip with stuff I bought at Superwalmart instead of stopping for food at a restaurant. I tried to find Motel 6 or Super 8 to crash paying around 40-50 bucks for a room instead of staying in hotels that cost 70-80.

You can budget long car rides with gas prices being on the expensive side.
