Amusment Industry Dream Job

Heh...Im 13 too and that would be an awsome job, ive made sooooo many professional blueprints and designs for coasters and concepts :)

Hey B&M tycoon and Intaminrocks. I am 16, and I think it would be awesome to design coasters. We could make one great company!

me too. i have them in a drawing pad and im saving them for when im a designer. (i know they probably will be out of stlyle by that time but i can dream cant i! ;))

I can't beleive no one has said they want to be an Imagineer or part of Universal Creative. That would be my dream job because you get to theme,landscape,and come up with ride concepts.

It's Paul Rueben,without the "s",force312. He's an editor for "At The Park" magazine I believe. Paul has been around this stuff for a long time. He formerly worked for Kodak, and was/is a member of the Western New York Coaster Club.

I like to write. I like to do graphic design. What career path uses both? Marketing. If all goes well, I'll get a job in Six Flags marketing and see about using some more original roller coaster names!

Anyone else think that Paul Rueben's voice is really funny? He has a lisp and everytime I watch my coaster shows with him on it, I laugh my arse off! He seems like a nice guy though, I wonder how much he makes a year! :)

Well, I am in college majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in structural engineering. I have interned at CCI and B&M before, and am trying to get a co-op with Intamin for next year. I will become a designer very soon. I hope I see you aspiring designers in the biz later!

Really...I don't know if you're lying but that sure is hard to believe. I thought B&M didn't even take interns. And I don't know much about structural engineering but wood and steel are two entirely different things.

PKI Fanatic, his friend, and I are going to start our own desinging company. It will be called JMC. It uses our first names (Jack, Matt, Charlie) and it stands for Just More Coasters. ;)

B&M has a work-study program with certain engineering schools. They only select a half dozen or so every year. It is a very hard program to get in.
I am aware that wood and steel are two different things. You think they only teach you about one material in a professional engineering school? I have learned and tested the strengths, weaknesses and uses of dozens of materials. Besides, CCI uses both in many of their coaster designs, wood track with a steel frame. And, I'd appreciate you not calling me a liar.

I think it would be fun to be an operator at SFWOA and show them that speed and effiency can really make the people happy even though that is against popular beliefs.

An imagineering position opened up in the Disney corporation a few years back whose job description included going to amusement parks around the world and creating reports on the experiences.

Now THAT is a dream job. Probably pays well too.

In response to StaticMan. I am not trying to argue with you, but CCI is based out of the US (right?) and B&M is based on Switzerland. Did you go to Switzerland for your internship with B&M?
