Work on the lift hill has already begun. Construction workers have been working rapidly lately, even to the extreme of working past midnight. The Starliner lift hill is currently about 9-11 ft high right now and will grow higher during this week. Here are 2 links to photos.

A co-worker of mine took his kids down there to CG the weekend before last, told me the kiddie rides that were "in the way" had been moved. Great to see some progress on construction, *finally*.

I have doubts that the ride will open on time (park projections in December were for June, LOL). But a really solid woodie, and I have heard only good things about what's intended for the rebuilt Starliner. :)

Good to see this! I anticipate riding my most favoritest wooden tunnel hop again one day.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

I can't see this coaster opening in June, but any progress is certainly a good thing!

^ LOL, Rob, that's what I told them WAY back then. "Certainly seems optimistic"...there was NO land prep done, and they thought they'd have it OPERATIONAL in six months? Smokin' too much cypress or somethin'... ;)

I'm anticipating *by* January 1....but I'm hopeful for opening in time for Halloween.

Yay for Cypress Gardens! I probably won't get back down that way for a couple years, but I look forward to one day riding on the reborn Starliner. :)

Just to let you guys know. They did that much lift hill in less than a day so think about how much they can do in a month. To tell the truth, I've never ridden a woodie so I'll be looking forward to have Starliner as my first.

Why wouldn't it open in June? Bents are made. It only takes a few days to pour the footers. A month of trackwork. Ta Da. it will be open by July 4th.

They are working at the speed of light over there. They just might finish it by the last week of May. I've heard many good things about the coaster. How much did you guys enjoy the Starliner?

Is that what they smoke down there in Winter Haven? I knew there was an ulterior motive behind the purchase of the park!

The park has been doing great this year. The reason why construction took so long was because they were having permit problems. I think the purchase of the park was a great move. It made many people happy and the park has had good attendance ever since. The Starliner will probably help boost attendance for the park. Go CG!

I'm Banking on July 22. This is when the Florida Coaster Club is scheduling a Get-Together. I would not be surprised if we get an invitation to either be the first to ride the Starliner at its new home or "Sneak Preview" the ride before it opens to the public.;)

^ See, the guy wearing that shirt smoked enough trees to think he's still in PA. You'd think the warmer weather woulda been a sure-fire giveaway... ;)

LOL, the Turns crew, to the best of my knowledge, will remain BUSY (and mobile) throughout the summer... :)
