Sorry to bump a month-old thread, but it made sense to continue the discussion here. :)

Seems things are still up in the air and as silly as ever. The park opening this year is still far from a guarantee.

What's the matter, Gonch? Have you missed debating with me these past few weeks? ;)

Weird we've been getting along so swell for so long... almost feels... unnatural. Can't speak for you but I know I feel kinda dirty, having agreed with you a lot lately.

Even the worst ememies can find some common ground somewhere.

LOL, I'd say *enemies* is stretching things beyond the point of incredible. Those of us who can "disagree without being disagreeable" know who we are... ;)

...and I don't feel the least bit dirty...well, not about that anyway :)

Anyone want to place odds on CLP opening this year?

I'll give 2-1 that it opens

^^^ Enemies is the wrong term to use. While Gonch and I don't always seem eye to eye, we always manage to try and take a look at what the other person is saying and we never make debates personal. I'm sure when Gonch and I eventually meet at a park (bound to happen sometimes), we'll be a lot closer to friends than enemies.

Nothing wrong with a healthy debate... or fifty ;)

Oh God, yes.

I said it recently - none of this is personal...ever! Never ever. Not even a little.

It's the fun of the debate. The big back and forth threads are infintely more fun than the 'me too' threads. I like a 'fight' :)

And yes, Rob - I feel dirty when you agree with me too. ;)

As far as Gator goes...well, he just can't help it, he's a hippie. ;)

Just thought I'd pass along the updated news on CLP.

I like them both. It's fun to be with people that see things my way but it's also fun to approach something with someone that is looking at things in an entirely different way. Debates are good, provided the person you're debating with doesn't make personal attacks and is willing to open his/her eyes and entertain the possibility that you also make a good point. Not all people on this site are fun to debate with, but Gonch is.

Now I'm feeling more dirty than ever... time to take a bath.

I hate Gonch, He has more credits than me :)

He almost always disagrees with me, and somehow does it in a way that don't get me mad at him :)

Some people are good at making it impossible to hate them, even though they're always WRONG!

I always assumed it was doing.

G.I. Joe never really made it clear though.

I bet I could win a debate against G.I. Joe... standing there, plasticky and all.

Not if he has the kung-fu grip though, but otherwise probably.

I wonder if G.I. Joe could save Conneaut?

G.I. Joe can do anything- he's a real American hero. I bet we could replace Shapiro with G.I. Joe and the company would be turned around instantly! We'd just have to make sure he doesn't use the kung-fu grip on less-than-satisfied customers... although that might be a good solution to line jumping.

G.I. Joe could save the park! Now all we have to do is sell that idea to the park. (and why not, someone spent 175k on a grant. G.I. Joe is worth way more than that, all he'd have to get paid is his normal military salary!)
;)

He could get G.I. Jane to cover the water park and security.
