More Problems For Conneaut Lake Park

Not sure I'd want to be in a waterpark being governed by G.I. Jane. Something tells me fun would be out of the question, and if I happen to stare at her too long, there's Joe's kung-fu grip to worry about again.
I wonder where he would stand on issues like breastfeeding in a park/water park...
(probably right where you put him cause hes made out of plastic ;) ) *** Edited 3/9/2007 6:51:21 PM UTC by P18***
^You raise a good question.

WWGIJD?

Being an all-American fun-loving lug of a guy, I'm sure his plastic royal majesty would have no problem. AS LONG AS IT'S IN A DESIGNATED AREA! VIOLATORS WILL BE SHOT, MINED OR BAZOOKA'D!

So who wants to write the "G.I. Joe Named To CLP's Board Of Directors" article for ARN&R? ;)

^You know, that would be a blast.

Why am I reminded of one of those Budweiser "Real American Heroes" radio commercials?

"...a CEO that can tackle any challenge you toss at him... except harsh sunlight, and a really big magnifying glass..."

"oooooooooh, it burns..."

I can't believe in the midst of this "lovefest" you're all ignoring a major problem at CLP-- The Dippin' Dots Building Has Been Declared Structurally Unsafe!!! Oh, the humanity! ;)
Damn. Now how are we going to get the inside scoop on the new-for-2008 coaster? Whatever will we do?
But wait, there's more!

New for 2008 coaster? Yes, there will be a new coaster in NW PA for 2008 if things go according to plans but it will not be at CLP. That is going to add another challenge for this park because the one thing that CLP had over Waldammer was Blue Streak. Ravine Flyer II changes things dramatically.

The good news it that if the sale closes, the park opens in 2007. Now the challenge will be to market the park in the face of Waldameer's changes.

As for the Dippin' Dots, a portable stand can accommodate this as is the case at some other parks.

I think that this park is pretty much doomed and the only thing I can see positive in all of this is a possible auction which means a partner for my SFAW shirt of auctioned items, but overall all its pretty sad to see any park go.

Audioslaved, did I even read the same article you read? Too me, it sounded at the very least like a stay of execution for another 2 or 3 years, minimum, with possibilities of salvaging the park for the indeterminate future. Of course, this is all contingent on the deal going through and all parties obeying the conditions. Big ifs, certainly, but not grounds for increased pessimism, imo.
The 'guard gate' issue cracked me up. With that guard hut, isn't it like a 'gated community'? Doesn't that add a bit more security?
