Here's the original source for those latest photos:

A few more in there that weren't posted to freizeitparkweb.de

It looks bigger than X to me.

or, as the pictures might suggest, an inverted lift which will lead directly into the half-loop drop.

Most likely the train is climbing that half loop, therefore what you see as lift track is acually support track for a flip, such as what follow's X's first Raven turn. The difference is that this new ride does not drop to ground level after the Raven turn.

I'd have to agree with Moosh on this one. If you look at the footers coming out of the station into what looks like the turn into the lift-hill...the footers are single as opposed to double footers for inverted track. My guess is an X-like vertical drop pulling out into the Raven turn...this ride is looking awesome!

And hmm...now my mind is wandering...could it be a raven turn up into a back-flip? I am way too excited for a monday morning! *** Edited 1/30/2006 3:31:49 PM UTC by 40belowbeef***

Seems I was indeed wrong with my interpretation:

Does X have this deformed upper section as well?

Nope... I'm guessing that the upper section is parabolic-ish in order for some nice zero-g (and perhaps some flipping) action before (after?) the lower loop.

Very cool.

So who's the Beethoven of this marvellous CAD enabled dynamic Ge-force symphony we are about to see erected here?

If Ron Toomer was still with Arrow, I'm sure we would be giving him a lot of crap about bending his wire wrong when designing that element. ;)

It hurts to look at for too long.

I believe this is also a Shilke design, as he does most of S&S's coaster work, including those sick wooden coasters that have started to pop up. :)

At least, transitioning into a 0G parabolic curve in a surprising way is something that has been done before by s&s:

*shiver*

Here's hoping that's not what this thing feels like. The entire point of a parabola (ie zero-g) is lost if you go over it at the speed Dodonpa does. Look at all the rockets or any frequently praised, comfortable ejector hill and I'll show you a hill that is not parabolic. I certainly hope that if this is a Shilke design, he's decided to send you through the top of that thing at just the right speed for some floating and flipping action.

That raven turn has to be one of the weirdest ones I've seen. Granted they've only been seen on "X" so far, but it just looks crazy and oddly shaped. Not to mention the massive amount of supports this thing has already, should be interested to see when its finished.

If you look at this pic:

http://www.asovini.com/screamer/e/4th_dimension/

you can clearly see that the 'third rail' is doing something...ie, possibly some sort of flip at the top of the raven...cool! :)

Ok...that link didnt quite work...but the pic i was referring to is: 20060203_05 *** Edited 2/7/2006 5:21:11 PM UTC by 40belowbeef***

Prolly re-enforced in case of Earthquakes. Kinda like California woodies.
