Yes im no stranger to "X", but this one just looked like it has way more support thats all.

"the only thing I know is that life is short and the only time you've got left is luck"
I am not saying this is the answer, but I've always noticed that the Japanese are much more apt to layer their safety as much as possible than America or Europe. I have heard many stories about them really stacking on safety on their structures because of both superstition AND hard, Earthly phenomena, such as earthquakes.

Again, not saying this is the answer, but I remember hearing how a big chunk of SD2K's pricetag was due to them paying to have the structure reinforced incredibly well.

Looks amazing already, the more 4ds the better :).
On another site in a forum someone had a construction park cam. I tried to go to fuji Q web site. I couldn't find the link.
There is a webcam on the frontpage of the japanese website (the international site doesn´t even list Dodonpa).

But I am not sure if the focus is on the construction site.

wiki wiki wiki wiki...ahh shut up!
that cam shows the construction site but due to the time difference you'll have to be up early or late to see whats going on. but heres one from the other day

Wanna fix that link? ;)
I'm so fustrated. I copied the link on the page of the forum but when you click onto the link the home page comes up. If you want to see the latest pick you'll have to go to the homepage then go to the new construction forum find page 13 of unknown 4D.
Sorry I tried!
Anyway looks alot like X with a few new twist. The first drop is supposely 260 ft!

Does anyone really think this coaster has more structure than X? I don't.

Is it possible? lol

Check out Theme Park Reveiw for some awsome construction shots!
I realize pictures can be misleading but that thing can't be 260 feet if what we're seeing is indeed the first drop with the lift being slightly higher and that would then be the highest point you would think. As I then compare it to X pictures, it looks the same height-wise?

I dunno, kids. I think that this thing is going to be the same layout or just slightly different to that of X. Of course, thats all well and good.
I would always think that although designers want to continue to offer bigger and better that they would always like to build new dependable models of coasters that maybe didn't go as smoothly the first time around. So building a coaster similar in all accounts to X would make a ton of sense to see if they can get it right from the get go. THEN they can offer more to the next buyer if things go well. My same point with Intamin and Kingda Ka. With Kingda Ka's operational consistency still way up in the air, why would they want to try to go bigger until they get it right. Everyone thought they had learned from the TTD mistakes but evidently there are still issues. Arrow and S&S are hopefully being prudent. B&M has always operated this way and jeez, they are the model for modern steel coaster building aren't they, just speaking of operational reliability. Sometimes it is better to know your limitations and be successful.
Well one of the things S&S did to sorta ensure that the ride performs reasonably well was test the trains for Japans 4D on X's track. They tested a single coach during a week day on the transfer track a couple of weeks back and recently ran the entire train. From what I remember it looks very similar to X minus the pertruding X design with the exact same seats and one of my friends who actually work on X says that the Trains are significantly lighter and runs the course noticably slower than the original trains. I kinda didn't want to post this because most will think that I'm spreading gossip because I mentioned my friend at X and provided no real evidence, but it's really true and it was mentioned on theme park review as well.

Any pictures of the Japanese cars????
