No, because by that time we'll be on Eastern Daylight time which is one hour ahead of Central Daylight time, right?

Eastern and Central are always one-hour apart, as long as there's observation of Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time.

The weird stuff is that most of Indianapolis (until this year) did not go on Daylight Savings Time. (Holiday World's county did, though.)

Starting this year, the entire state will observe DST. Indianapolis will always be on New York time and Santa Claus will always be on Chicago time.

It is all very confusing. I had a discussion about it with my mom this weekend. I think Dubois County is within that Southwestern Corner, making it the same as Spencer County (the one that HW is located in), but I don't know how far it goes. I think I will have to do some research, because I am getting confused just writing this.

Yes, Dubois County (Jasper, Huntingburg, Ferdinand) will be on Central Time beginning April 2. Perry County (Tell City), too.

^I depend WAY too much on my cell phone to "detect" time changes when I travel.

I have no worries. :-P

I used to do that, but when I switched phone service my service was based in a city that was in a different time zone than I was. I called the service to find out why my clock was an hour off, when I crossed the White River. They told me that everything south of the White River is on the same time. Little do they know that I live in a weird world that does weird things with time!

cyberdman said:Just booked our hotel last night too at Santa's Lodge. You have to call to reserve there, because as others have said, they do not have their rates established yet. Kind of makes me a little nervous pre-reserving hotel rooms with an undisclosed rate, but we liked our stay with them last time (despite the fire alarm burned popcorn incident) and didn't want to miss out on this event.

FYI, I just booked today at the Lodge and the rate they gave me was $99 a night. Anyone know if it's within walking distance of the gate? See ya'll there!!!

$99 a night, well I guess that'll have to do then. Yeah, you could walk it, it is really close. Maybe a 15 minute walk from room to front gate, depending on how fast you walk.

Well, I see the crane working on the lifthill again on the webcam. Trackwood? Chain and motor stuff?

Sorry, can't help but get a little pumped.

Good to know (it's been 9yrs since I've been to HW!) It's just always nice to have the option of a short walk to the gate just incase the only available parking spots are in BFE.

The Lodge would be considered BFE. The furthest part of the parking lot is way closer than the Lodge.

I was just going to say the same thing Tambo. Even the furthest spots are closer than the Lodge. Still not too extremely far - but then again I am used to walking a lot so it may seem like more to others than to me. I would still drive either way because after a long day like that and I am dead tired the last thing I want to have to do is take that walk - which now would feel even farther - back to the hotel.

I just spoke with the GM at Santa's Lodge ... anyone who wants to make room reservations for HoliWood Nights online should be able to do so by this weekend. (They're in the process of updating their system. Their web address is www.santaslodge.com.)
