So, what did everyone think? I thought it was very informative and I really loved to see the concepts and designs. The rollback footage was great! Now I have something to watch when the winter has me down.

What codecs would be prefered for this show? I only have so much bandwidth so I was thinking along the lines of MP4 or WMV...

I love the commercial for the show: "No coaster like it on earth!"... ok basically, yes there is, KK is hardly different than TTD, but I'll maybe give it to them. "groundbreaking technology!" hmmm makes KK's technology so different? Not much...

Hey, the first 10 minutes has shown an abundance of CP footage and talked about their rides quite a bit, so that's worth it. :)

Although they did (and yes, this is lame enthusiast nitpicking) talk about S:TE breaking the 100mph barrier in 1996 while showing on-ride footage of S:UF.

Then again, the flyers might actually be fun if they went 100! ;)

Just walked in on my comp recording the show and saw that the saturation settings are messed up! Ugh. I don't know who did it but the sky and image is overly saturated and bright. :(

UBRhino, do you have Cable Vision? If so, sorry... *** Edited 10/26/2005 3:39:45 AM UTC by GoliathKills***

Well, an interesting show, I must admit.

I was impressed with the research done, and the explanations of the complex equipment was done well. I also must commend the producers on showing the darker side of building Kingda Ka. It opened late. It closed after a major failure.

However, the show was just way too dramatic. They seemed to over emphasize the construction aspect, not the testing aspect, which really put Kingda Ka behind.

Anyway, still worth a viewing if you haven't seen it!

whats with the kingda cant comemnt.

they bothhave had major breakdowns . ttd has broken down this year too and it opened up in 2003.

they are basically the same ride. Same amount of breakdowns and everything.

I find the comemnt about if gadv looses the records they will get them back. caught the last few minutes. was that guy from the park or six flags in general?

Can great adventure afford to do it again ?

The ride does nothing for me. Neither does Top Thrill Dumpster.

Happy now?

It should've been titled: Kingda Ka: With the Problems we had building it, Just wait for the problems once it opens!

They fried a cable during the test phase? LOL. I could see the 6flags execs on that one: 'What do you mean it's broke before it opened????

It was a good show.

I was surprised to hear it takes a year to make the accumulator for it. That's a long time to fabricate something.

Hat's off to Iron workers that built that thing! That took guts. that's a job i could not do.

TTD=Time To Demolish ( I saw this on a TTD t-shirt at CP last weekend)
