Last time I rode Dinosaur, you go down a ramp and dodge the Carnataurous which is right over you.

Thanks Chernabog, for clearing that up, I never realized there were two floors on Dinosaur.

I think if they made a similar clone like Indy's Disneyland Ride and make a new story then I think this would work perfectly. But it has to be a lot different than Dinosaur in terms of the track layout & theming. Maybe based on the upcoming Indy 4 movie. I would'nt expect this to arrive in at least 2008-2009.

to make it FEEL like you are backing up

You mean you don't actually go backwards? That's a good trick, and it completely fooled me. *** Edited 6/1/2005 4:09:13 PM UTC by Brian Noble***

Themedesigner -- thanks for confirming my suspicion. I thought that, perhaps, the final scene on IJA was tilted at some angle and the track was level, making it seem as if you dipped under the boulder when, all along, you drive straight beneath it. *** Edited 6/1/2005 5:46:00 PM UTC by Chernabog***

The boulder scene has to be one of the most convining illusions I have ever experienced on a theme park ride. Its wild that even when you *know* you aren't going backwards, you still feel 100% that you are when on the ride.

Boulder scene = amazing

I *knew* I wasn't going backward, but still felt like it. What, exactly, *is* moving, there? Is it the whole room moving down-track or what?

Can somebody tell me about this boulder scene? Why is it so amazing? I'm j/w, I haven't ridden IJA.

In the finale of The Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland, your EMV turns a corner and you find yourself staring at the large boulder that so famously rolls after Indy in the films.

At that time, the motion of the EMV and the set -- yes, the whole of the set moves -- to make it appear as if you're backing up. In reality, you're stationary the entire time. At the last moment, your EMV accelerates quickly and ducks beneath the "oncoming" boulder. It's amazingly effective and, like others have said, even if you know what's happening in reality, it's very, very difficult to perceive that while on the ride.

I think a Star Tours like themeing and making that end of the lot be a fictional "live" stage for movies in the making would be a good theme to have. *** Edited 6/2/2005 12:01:38 AM UTC by The Mole***

So finally your guys prediction on this coming to the Disney MGM Studios replacing the Epic Stunt Show??? I say yes it's a possible chance but the theming & track layout will totally have to change. As for the EMV Vehicle I think they should keep it but make it similar to Disneyland's,CA and Tokyo Disney.

I think the EMV Vehicle idea should still be in the works but, I hope make the Themeing & track layout different in order for this to work I think they'd have to at least wait at least another 1-2 more years then we'll see about IJA.

What are you talking about Peabody, come your temper down. You should agree with me that IJA should come because it probably will no matter what anyone says because the Stunt Show is aging a lot.

Peabody, did you actually ride when the Ice Machine was working? I've never talked to anyone who has, and haven't been able to find any online info.

I rode it a few times while it was still working. It was an amazing effect. But it wasn't operational long. It was prone to lots of breakdowns and finally they just gave up on fixing it. It would have been nice if they had fixed it for the 50th. They have done quite a few new/upgrade things on their existing "E-ticket" rides. But from what I have heard, that would involve tearing the roof apart and they weren't about to do that.

Can someone describe more about what the ice effect was? I only know that is was troubled and eventually stopped working altogether, but have no idea where in the ride it was, or what it did.

I'm talking about how your posts made no sense and sounded like they were written by a 5 year old. And there was no temper, don't flatter yourself. :) helpful hint: reread what you type before you hit send....it could do wonders.

Duh. Thanks :)

That sounds really badass. I'll start a paypal account for donations so they can rebuild the roof or whatever and get it working again :)
