2005 coaster announcements?

when do you expect them to start?

the reason i ask is while i was playin golf at the Bruin ( across the street from Kings island i saw 2 trucks with what looked like to be 2 pieces of coaster track. It looked to be a brake run and it was green. The trucks were headed north on I-71. Dont want to start rumors just stating what i saw

Hmm, what kind of track was it? If it was B&M, there's a good possibility it would be going north a bit then hanging a right to head east.;)

It's fact, not fiction... other than that... keep your pants on as this season isn't even half over with.

Mose annoucements tend to come in August - October so we'll have to wait till then for most of them.

Apparently Ohio is the place to be if you want to see B&M track, IIRC the plant that makes their american track is in Ohio. Green, to me, sounds like Hydra....

That's what I was thinking. Maybe I'll be getting some track pictures within the next couple weeks:).

Either it's Hydra track, or King Cobra has found a new home.

It was new track so it sound like Hydra... Come to think of it, the track did remind me of batman knight flight's

Actually, considering it's still early-mid July, we have more *announced* next-year coasters than would be typical, don't we?

Add in that one or two of the Cypress Gardens' coasters might be late, and that Knott's new coaster could easily be a week late, and there's a few more to add to the list...;)

Every year people start looking towards next season earlier and earlier. ;) Next summer, we'll be thinking about '06 by May. :P

Seems like the speculation for year x begins right after the announcement for year (x-1) for any given park.

I think the fact that we know more '05 coasters than usual is more due to the economic conditions and the cooling of the "coaster wars" than anything else. Parks want to showcase what they're intending to put in, but don't have the funds to put it in immediately as in the past - they have to wait for another year's worth of gate inflow (or more to the point, they announce their intentions right when they buy the coaster as opposed to just before it's being constructed). That's my theory at least =)

Well FYI SDC is now sort of advertising their new coaster for 2005 (PowderKeg™) on their train ride. When the train goes by the conductor mentions that there there is a lot of new construction going on for the new ride, but he can't tell you much as it is still a top secret. However he can tell you that it will be a "Blast in the Wilderness". PowderKeg Construction is moving right along and there are now footers poured. http://midwestinfoguide.com/silver/new.html I would imagine that track and supports will be showing up soon for it as well.

Ohio is definately the hot spot for track spotting. I saw a few flat beds full of Silver Bullet supports headed South a few weeks ago. As with everyone else, the green track is more than likely for Hydra. I would tend to think that maybe some color of purple would be included as well. Maybe the supports or something. Anyone noticed those things riding around?

Why would a park advertise a future attraction? Maybe it's different for other people and for GP, but I will purposely not visit a park if I know they're putting something good in next year.

I'm the same way Andy. I'm purposely putting off BGW and SFA (and PKD) in hopes they'll put something in for 2005. Not that I didn't do that in 2002.. and 2003 as well. :-\

Same has gone for SFStL, SFDL, and the SF Texas parks. Boo on not adding new coasters. ;)

I seem to recall RCDB had something about B&M building a 4th dimension in Mexico, but I just checked and it's gone. RCDB has seemed to be a rumor free zone so I am kind of curious of what is going on.

I've never seen that. Perhaps they got their wires crossed....the only thing possibly happening in Mexico is the Morgan hyper. If a chain was going to shell out big $$ for a B&M hyper (If such a concept even exists), I doubt it would be placed in Mexico.

CoasterMNguy - it was for a park in Spain, not Mexico. That coaster was never confirmed and it's my opinion that the author simply got his manufacturers and model types confused, as they so often do.

Keep your pants on. PKI will announce in the next month and others will soon follow. This is not rumor, but fact.
