Dorney Park Floorless Coaster

Hey, I was wondering if anybody has any new information on this coaster.

Its a B&M Floorless coaster opening in 2005. That's all the park has said. I expect we'll learn more this summer.

Was there talk of underground tunnels? For some reason I think so, but I could be smokin crack again.

IIRC the term was "below grade" which could be either tunnels or trenches.

Think like when you enter the Immleman on Talon. Below grade in a trench but not underground.

Montu is THE coaster to use when describing "trenches"...:)

I really do like Talon a lot, but c'mon, you call THAT a trench? ;)

And the ironic thing about Montu is that they had to build up the earth to create the trenches ;)

...and god bless them for that. The most thrilling part of the ride for me would have to be the head on collision with the wall in the trenched corkscrew. Nothing quite like running straight at a wall only to wingover in the nick of time.

Coasterman Mike - who is hoping for a straight dive(Kraken) instead of the banking first drop(BKF... err... Dominator)

Nemesis is another one to think of when thinking about trenching and 'below grade'.

When saying "below ground" they could be referring to that Hercules was positioned on a hill and if it went down in that area it would be going below the ground lvl of the higher area of the park (talon/entrance)

The original info said it would go "below ground level 5 times". While that could mean tunnels and trenches, the hillside area that Herc sat on leads me to the above idea is most likely.

I guess we'll see....

I don't think that's the right line of thinking. That idea could allow you to say that Laser goes mostly below ground level.

No matter how it plays out, I think it is safe to say that it will be unique.

Perhaps a long first drop headed right to the water, ala Hulk at IOA? Ok...so maybe that's not it's first drop...errr maybe it is...I don't know. Either way, it's my same kind of concept idea.

Most likely the station will be built on the same high/ ground level as Hercules' station once stood and most likely the ride will descend off to the side of that hill on a couple occasions, thus below the ground level (at which you entered the station)...
