The issue that caused the trains to be temporarily shortened has something to do with the brakes. Apparently the trains were still traveling too fast when they reached the first set of kicker wheels at the end of the brakerun.
Since magetic brakes (obviously) can't bring the train to a complete stop, these tires should be used only to slow the train down those last few miles per hour (see: MF's operation) Apparently this wasn't the case for TTD, though.
By shortening the trains you now have less weight and, therefore, less momentum to burn off. Once stronger magnets arrive from Sweden and are installed the trains will have their fifth cars added again.

Not to mention the ride time of TTD isn't terribly long, so I wouldn't think this would be too much of a capacity setback.
Ride time has nothing to do with capacity if you always keep the bottleneck (almost always the station, but with the double blocking, I'm not sure) block full...

Does this sound like it's going to be possible?
Or a better question... Does anyone know how quickly Xcelerator can recharge and launch at full capacity?

The problem is that the launch system needs to recharge in half that time, since it'll be launching two trains every 40(or so) seconds....But I'm fairly certian that Intamin took that into consideration during development, but hey you can never be too sure when it comes to an Intamin ride! :)

Two trains every 40 seconds with 12 passengers per train would yield a capcity of 2160 passengers per hour. I don't think that's going to be possible.
The originally stated (theoretical) capacity with 16 passenger trains was 1500 pph. In order to achive this level of capacity dispatches would have to occure about every 38 seconds.
Assuming my elemetary school math is correct capacity will drop to 1136 pph with a 12 passenger train at the same interval. Still not too bad. In fact I may have just answered my own question. :)

People Who Know(TM) tell me this is just part of the break-in process. Also, judging by the way things went, I don't think they got the ride signed-off by Intamin until the last couple of days. Everything is still very new, and it shows. It'll get better in the next week I'm sure.
