SF ride rotation?

I know that Six Flags used to use a ride rotation program, I was wondering what years that was in effect and how it worked? Any ideas why it stopped, and if cloning became more popular afterwards?

I would not say it really stopped. My homepark AW just last year sent off Texas Tornado to Cali, and Feista Texas shipped away Joker to New Orleans. I am sure there are many other moves, those are just two that are dear to me.

So IMO the irde rotation program has really never stopped, I think it just had a few slower years.

Also, Tidal Wave/Viper/Greezed Lightnin' is finding a new home at SFKK, as is Texas Tornado/Thriller/Zonga at SFMW.

And on the flat ride side, Evolution from SFGAdv went to SFSTL and became Xcalibur, and I believe Starfish from SFMW was sent somewhere, wasn't it? Are they bringing the ride rotation back?

The SF ride rotation is back in full swing. There is yet another coaster leaving a major park at the end of the year and being sent elsewhere. It's just a little to early for me to mention yet.

DWeaver, leaving us hanging by a thread, without even a hint to grasp hold of (for the purpose of rumor-mongering, of course)....;)

I'll take a stab at it [and this is purely a guess]: Flashback is leaving SFMM. To keep the coaster count the park will add two coasters: a B&M flyer and PGA's former shuttle, purchased from Anton's son who is rehabing it, and will enclose it a-la Turbine.

This is an interesting topic.... no matter when they were moved, what other rides were relocated from one SF park to another?

I know that Thriller Bees and the teacups left SFKK to go to SFWOA last year.

Although not a SF park, didn't Ninja at SFOG come from Wildwood or such?

Seems like Mr Hyde's Nasty Fall at SFWOA came from SFGAM or such.

Vampire at SFNE came from SFKK.

I also believe Starchaser at SFKK went to SFDL, but has since been moved again.

What else?

Mr Hyde's Nasty Fall did indeed come from SFGAm where it was the imfamous Edge

Another ride at SFGAm came from the original ride rotation program. That is the Condor. I know it was at a few other parks before coming to a rest at Great America. One of them was a Texas park I believe.

Didn't PGA's "Edge" wind up in a SF park? Does anyone remember which one?

Actually, there is a little Six Flags park in Missouri who is loosing Ninja and getting a new coaster in it's place. ;) I guess you could say this "new" coaster is the "new" B:TR clone. ;)

Swoosh, that was way too easy! Those Vekoma junior inverts are popping up everywhere, huh? ;)

I hope Ninja will be sent to another park though. Astroworld anyone?

Antuan...it's possible that Swoosh could be referring to the new clone that is popping up at two SF parks this year....you never know...but then again, this thread is turning into a mini-rumor mill

I'll take a guess and say Viper at GADv is going. Just a wild guess though, nothing more. :)
