I would have to say that my homepark, Dorney Park, gets little recognition. Even though it will be recieving Talon for the 2001 season I think that many people just pass it up because of Six Flags Great Adventure and Hershey. Not only does Dorney have a nice selection of coasters, but a wonderful assortment of flat rides (both new and old), as well as well themed childrens areas. This park has made large strides since Cedarfair has taken over, and the future looks very bright. I feel that many people look down upon it because they tend to like Six Flags more due to their large capital spending, but whatever the case is, this park will take the amusement industry by storm in the next couple of years. They are currently buying more land, and improving the area which they currently inhabit. Rides like Talon will put them on the map, and the the supporting cast is already in place. I think that it is about time that people start giving this park the credit it deserves. Also, wait till 2002, it will be another big year for both Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. I am talking new slides, flat rides, and shows.
As for the most underrated ride, that would have to go to Kumba, at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay. I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel which is next to this beautiful coaster, and fell in love with it at that moment. When I actually got to ride it though, I remember thinking that, "this is a ride that each park should own." I did not find it the slightest bit rough (this occured in early august of 2000), and thought the ride was wonderfully paced and creative. Also, I did not realize there was a great helix/tunnel at the end, which added to the amenities and thrills of this coaster.
That is my say.
