New S&S site... total crap

I'm not philisophically opposed to Flash at all. Quite the contrary. When it's used right, I think it's fabulous. (I'm a Heavy.com fan.) The thing is, even that site with its graphic intensity could've been more effective, or rather, less bandwidth intensive, with a lot of tweaking.

I don't know... what gets me so irritated by sites like this is that some amateur got paid for this. I'd like to be getting paid for that sort of thing instead of having to work for "the man."

The man should be working for me. ;)

the site loaded pretty fast for me, but im also on cable. there's alot of problems with the html. as jeff said this new site is crap

I checked it out at home with my cable modem and my 500mhz G3 (for those who don't know, 500mhz for a G3 is not the same as a Pentium chip), and I got it to come up. And it still sucks.

I can imagine if someone else posted something like this. It'd be closed in about 2 seconds. The website looks fine. Quit complaining.

Does it look fine if you have a 56k modem? No. Do the majority of internet users still dial up? Yes.

Maybe you disagree, rcthemepark36, but I don't care much to wait 10 minutes for the main page to load. If they wish to have a huge GIF (and lord knows why they would make such a choice) then they should give users the option to not view it, like many graphic-intensive sites do.

DSL here and that is pretty lame. Very unprofessional from an otherwise excellent company. They should get their money back unless it was done inhouse (which is certainly possible given the evidence).
