Are you ever scared?

Are you ever scared to get on a coaster? For me usually not, especially on a B&M. I am NEVER scared on a B&M because I know that they are always smooth and very safe so there is nothing to worry about. I went on Kraken for my first time (and 1st floorless) in February and the first time I got on in the front seat I was not scared at all. I was excited, but not scared. But whenever I go on a new woodie I am usually pretty scared, that is if its a big one. I am afraid I am going to get banged up pretty bad and hurt my self but after I go on I know what will happen so I have no fear. The only steel coaster I was ever really scared to go on was Millenium Force. 310 feet of weightlessness realy freaked me out but it was great. I remember in the station "please secure all loose articles and enjoy your record breaking ride on the millenium force" then they had the lights going across the station ceiling (this was at night :)) All of a sudden the ride op says "clear" and the cable lift pulls the train out of the station getting faster and faster the higher we went. I then noticed that there were no stairs! We reached the top and I knew I was gonna die, which I did (jk). It was awesome!. But even the 4th and 5th time I was still scared of the 1st hill, which has never happened. How about you?

Nah, never scared to go on a coaster, never really have been. Even for first ride they gave to us on Media Day for BDK. Or my first ever ride on SRoS @ SFNE, I waited an extra 30 minutes for front row for that sucker, and it was such an awesome feeling. I threw my hands up at the top of the lift and kept them up, it was crazy. I hope to do that for my first ride on MF, and chances are, I will. I love hypers hands up, the only way to go. I'm never scared of rides, I just get an adrenaline rush, and I get pumped before I ride a ride. If a ride breaks down just when I'm about to get on (SRoS first time), then it just gets me more excited.

I'm never afraid of being hurt on a ride, although I do anticipate the feeling of tall drops!

The last time I remember being scared was on the first flip on Stealth. I just remember staring strait at the ground, and thinking how crazy this ride is going to be. On Hypersonic, I remember having a ton of antisipation sitting on that launch pad, but I'm not sure if I was really scared.

Drop rides still get me sometimes, especially Skycoasters, but not to the degree of when I first started riding.

Um... Lets see here. BKF when going through the cobra roll my harness clicked UP a notch (yes you read that right, it loosened) and on X-Flight for the first time, the first time it went so you were on your stomach.

Scared, no. But the adrenaline rush going up the first spike on deja vu is quite exhilarating.

I remember the first ride I had on Millie I was pretty frightened.

The first time I was truely afraid to go on a ride was S:UE. I didnt know what too expect outta the twist and the vertical spike, so I was frightended.

The most Ive ever been frightended was on Millenium Force. Frightening ride.

I'll ride anything expect for rip cord's those are the only thing I'm terrified of riding.

Lewis, I am with you. The only time I have been frightened, and truly I might add, was on a skycoaster. I have been on 2 of the largest, and they both just made me nutso. I don't do that "hanging with a little bit 'o nylon holding me in thing" well! You know? Whew:)

The only coaster I've ever actually been nervous before I rode it was my very first coaster, Jack Rabbit @ Kennywood, and MF. I will probably be nervous before I ride X this summer but that just adds to the fun of the coaster!

for the most part no. but sometimes yes. depends on what it is. i mean, if its something completely different that i have never expierienced, i might be a little scared. i was scared on my first HypersonicXLC ride, and my first ride on Superman: Ride of Steel(the one that got me hooked). ill probably be scared on millenium force when i ride it this summer. but for the most part no, just when its something extremely different or insane.

I was scared a little going on Deja Vu. Earlier in the day I saw it get stuck vertically face down, and didn't want it to happen to me. If it valleyed with me on it, I'd be fine, but stuck on the lift, no thank you.

I still have yet to ride an impulse even though my home park has one. So far fate has intervened to keep me off the ride with breakdowns or three to four hour lines. I must say that I am more than a little intimidated by these things as I am afraid of heights and these puppys are pretty high. Hopefully this season I will be able to find an impulse to ride with only a hour wait and in working condition and get to ride it and break this irrational fear.

I was scared the first time I rode Maggie....man was that a TALL coaster....Now, I'm only scared when I walk into a park and see that some intense ride is CLOSED...;).

I will give props to the SlingShot ride at Old Town....I was hoarse for about a week - sheer TERROR. Even Katanga wasn't that frightening, but I did think it was more fun....

The main reason I appreciated Deja Vu was because, for the first time in many years, I was actually a bit frightened on a coaster. To me, being intimidated adds to the enjoyment of a coaster, and I hadn't felt any sense of fear on a coaster in a long time. Actually, drop rides still creep me out a bit, no matter how many times I've done 'em.

I was scared of MF as well. I worked at CP that summer in Camp Snoopy and while training I kept watching it being tested thinking "I can't believe I want to ride that thing". We had an employee ride night the evening before opening day and it was the scariest thing I have ever done in my life. I rode it 3 times that night and in total have enjoyed MF approximately 75 times.

I do remember some of my supervisors telling me that they would never ride it even though they eventually did anyway.

Ohh the stories that I could tell, but I don't want to bore anyone.

On any coaster I have been on today I have never been scared it has been more adrenaline. But I will say that when I go to Cedar Point this summer I will be completey FREAKED OUT when I get on MF. I don't know what to expect from that drop as my highest drop is only 250+ feet ( drop zone).
