Scared of heights???

Just out of pure curiosity, anyone else here scared of heights? I love coasters, but when it comes to the big ones, I have to be dragged on, and I hyperventilate the whole first ride. Of course I say first because once you get me on, and I'm over the initial shock, I say " Hey, that was awesome. Let's go again!!" I guess my way of spitting in the face of my fear. Anyone else?

I remember I'm scared of hieght when I get to the top of a coaster. I rememer when I rode Freefall 6 times, each time I asked myself why I was up here. Then after the drop I said let's go again!

I absolutey love coasters and they don't scare me at all, but I am terrified of heights. I usually just look at my feet until we reach the top of the lift.

I am very scared of heights. But on coasters I really dont care how high we are. I love the view on MF. I am not scared of heights on coasters at all. But when it comes to latters ;) I cant get even close to the top :)

yea, there is something about a coaster that just makes me feel a little more secure. but so far, the 275ft view on the eifel tower is plenty high enough...but i dont have much time to get used to it. im going to cp in june/july and mf is sure to be a good thrill. too bad ill be too scared my first ride to think about the nice view.

I am surprised with the amount of my enthusiasts friends that are terrified of heights. Personally, I love them but I know others that don't care for heights at all.

I also know a few people that get more nervous than I when watching me do things like a Skycoaster, bungy jump, or SCAD diving. I find that funny at times.

Terrified doesn't begin to cover it. I'm going to CP in Sept. for my Aniversary and the hubby wants to ride MF. I'll probobly need a couple valium ( or something ) to get through it!! But afterwords, I'll be racing to get back in the Q. Adrenaline junkie I guess.

I'm terrified of heights too, but I rode MF with no problem. It was scary going up the lift of course, but after that, just amazing...I've also done skycoasters with no problem. The way I look at it is, I just feel that my fear makes the ride that much better.

I find that may fear of heights ends once I'm off the the chain. Really scary is an Invertigo where you just sit there with your feet dangling. I must admit though that the more I ride the less it bothers me.

I love heights. I enjoy riding Power Tower at Valleyfair and Cedar Point plus Millennium Force. I get nervous sitting on the Turbo Drop at VF but thats the fun part about the ride before they drop you. The only thing I'm terrified are riding rip cords because there is a difference and I enjoy going up the eifel tower at Kings Island you can see the whole park from the top. Little nervous when I get up there though.

HA! Try cimbing the Raging Bull lift hill at SFGAm to host a stranded train, when its windy! Thats scared of heights!

That would be great! I would really enjoy that. I have climbed up a couple of lifts before and enjoyed it.

If I'm 5 feet off the ground I start getting nervous. If I'm secured into a coaster train, I'm usually the person thats hanging over the side of the train to look at the ground below me. I hope I never get involved in a walk down.. I'd most likely have an attack of some sort.

Pretty scared of heights. I really enjoy rolelr coaster heights - enjoying the views from the hills, especially at Cedar Point. However, I can't function at all at the top of a ladder.

I'm really scared of heights when it comes to rides like Supreme Scream at KBF, but if its a hyper, giga, or even a space shot like Maliboomer at DCA I have no problems at all. I guess going up a giant tower slowly gives me a scare especially with your feet dangling. I know I would be scared of a hyper inverted too.

I'm terrified of heights. I can't stand being in tall buildings. Somehow, though, I can still be found riding Supreme Scream at least twice each time I visit Knott's....

I love heights, but only in the more "controlled" fashion -- planes, coasters, through windows, etc. I can't stand Skycoasters, and though I've never tried bungee jumping or skydiving I doubt I ever will. I don't think it's the height that bothers me so much as the total free-fall with no restraints that you can feel, but whatever the case, I'll stick to coasters.

I am scared of heights, but like Jim said, my fear of heights ends once we reach the top of the chain lift. From there it's just free flying.

I too am scared of heights but love them on coasters. I do fine in planes but when it gets really bumpy I get a little nervous. S&S towers don't bother me though.
