COASTER DEAD POOL

Ok with th recent destruction of Drachen Fire and Windjammer after standing but not operating and the loss of King cobra and the future of Joker's Revenge not looking bright , just for fun let's start a coaster dead pool. what coasters are most likely to go SBNO and or removed either by destruction or relocation outside the U S A in the next few years

Remember this is just for fun so if your favorite coaster winds up on someones list dont have a hissy fit

And for the record I hope we never lose another coaster and I'm not condoning any of the above coasters removal

Hold up! First I want to know what you mean by the future of Joker's Jinx not looking to bright. I haven't heard anything negative about it yet. It just got lab bars on it, so what seems to be the problem? Is it lack of ridership? Please explain, I'm anxious to know!

My apologies I meant Joker's Revenge at six flags fiesta texas I guess the name joker's jinx just sticks with me it's what I generally name joker themed rides in rct sorry for the confusion I will edit my original post

What's the possibility of Loch Ness Monster being a contender in the coaster dead pool? Far fetched??

I highly doubt that two wooden coasters built within the last few years will become "defunct" anytime soon. Then again, I suppose stranger things have happened...but I wouldn't count on it, even if the respective parks are having financial trouble.

TT is staying.. they just bought new trains. Add in: La Vibora in Over Texas for sure.

BGT will kick in Python, eventually. Don't be surprised if it's sooner rather than later....and coasterdude318, we DID just lose another "new" woodie in TN. I don't see Jazzland as having poor long-term "prospects", they DO have a good market. Visionland may be another question...

Thunder Eagle may be sitting dormant currently, but it's not gone for good. I wouldn't be surprised if it either re-opens or is sold to another park at some point in the near future. In fact, I'd be surprised if the opposite happened and it was torn down.

Older, replacable coasters are way more likely to go than anything else.

I would expect to see many corkscrew, boomerang and older SLC's to go in the next decade.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

I truly don't think LNM at BGW will be a contender in this regard. LNM is still fairly reliable, an enjoyable experiance, and attracts BIG crowds. BGW was my home park last year, and LNM often had some of the biggest lines. Part of this is because they very rarely run the third train, but the other part is that it is loved by the GP of all ages.

Ok maybe I didnt make myself clear let's each make a five coaster long dead pool list just for fun

here is mine again this time with reasons for inclusion

VIPER SFGADV hasn't run much

RAMPAGE VISIONLAND park has financial problems

TEXAS TORNADO ASTROWORLD same as viper sfgadv

SHOCKWAVE KINGS DOMINION recent removal of king cobra paramount regularly removes similar rides from all their parks(flight trainers(sky pilot) white lightning at carowinds king cobra at kd)

MEGAZEPH JAZZLAND same as rampage visionland

Here are 2 alternate choices

SKYRIDER PARAMOUNT'SCANADA'S WONDERLAND paramount extermination rule stated with shock wave prediction

GREASED LIGHTENING/TITAL WAVE PARAMOUNT'S GREAT AMERICA same as skyrider

So anyone interested in participating make your list since I altered the rules a little with the alternates you can too top 5 and 2 alternates

this kind of thing happened all the time during the depression with wooden coasters. some of them only lasting 1 or two years before they were demolished. also if a coaster was not that thrilling and not a money maker or too thrilling (revere beach lighning) they would tear it down and replace it with another coaster or some flat rides. this is all before the theme park where everything was pay per ride. so don't get too upset if a stiff like drachen fire gets removed. other stiffs that survive only because of general admission and pop are the grizzly at great america, mean streak at cp, gasm at sfgadv, both dogs up at canada's wonderland. but these are just a few and this is only my opinion.

I believe Psyclone at SFMM might be dead soon, but they will leave up until it rots because they want the stupid coaster count. So maybe that's questionable. Another which I wouldn't be shocked to go would be Flashback at SFMM. Also Grizzly at PGA.

CP will not get rid of willdcat for the same reason Magic Mountain won't remove flashback. Besides Wildcat is an enjoyable ride that still enjoys a large ridership.

Sadly, I think Whizzer at SFGAm is on its last legs. There are maintenance problems and it sits on a prime piece of land - perfect for a B&M Flyer or a small B &M Floorless. With the removal of Sky Whirl, the stage is set for the removal of another original GA "classic" ride.

Actually I could see the Demon getting removed before Whizzer. Whizzer has huge lines everytime I see it and the Demon is always durn near a walk-on. I would hate to see either ride go, but I think SFGAm would be better off removing the Demon as it is the same type of ride as Shockwave and Shockwave gets much better ridership overall. The land footprint for Demon is pretty big too. Not sure if it is bigger or smaller than Whizzer.

But what would that leave as being a family coaster at GAM? If they got rid of Whizzer they would need a mine ride or something of that sort to takes its place as a coaster the whole family can ride.

Another coaster with an uncertain future is the Vancouver PNE/Playland Coaster.Although I have been getting some encouraging news from up north,they aren't out of the woods yet.

In any event,if the PNE has to vacate its' site,another park will recognize the historic value of Coaster( and the fact it is a great ride!) and move it to their park.
