COASTER DEAD POOL

1. Shockwave at PKD

2. Flashback at SFMM

3. La Vibora at SFoT

4. Texas Tornado at SFAW

If they still work and people still ride them, I don't see CP or SFMM getting rid of anything.

-----------------

I find it VERY hard to believe that Rampage would be torn down. It is considered one of the best wooden coasters on the planet right now, and it is only 4 years old. I am sure that someone will take it.
Well it's almost been 2 years now and many of the coasters we named have in fact survived the conditions of this Dead Pool- destruction or relocation out of the U.S.

I guess if I had to pick a winner it would be CornballFreak since he prdicted that the coasters stored at Old Indiana would not return. Technically though they were already disassembled and therefore already lost.

Few notes Texas Tonado, Joker's Jinx were relocated. Whizzer was threatened with removal but survived and Rampage reopened. Thunder Eagle was relocated outside the U.S. Greased Lightening was removed.

DRAGON, so THAT'S what they're doing for the 30th anniversary, eh? ;)

Reminds me of how NBC used to repackage sitcom reruns over the summer with the tagline, "If you haven't seen them, it's new to you!" So when all else fails and corporate profits are going down, wow the public by bringing back an old SBNO standard!

Viper -- if you didn't know it sucked before, it's new to you!

I would HATE to see the Carolina Cyclone removed! It's one of the smoothest old Arrow's I have ever experienced! I love it! :-/ Hopefully it will be around for a long time!

I WISH somebody/someone would remove the Thunderbolt Express from Camden Park. It's been SBNO for about 5 years now? It's literally falling apart and if they can't fix it (which doesn't look like they are going to) they should at least sell it for what they can and/or donate the working parts back to Arrow (GG) or another park who still has one of those shuttle loops. I assume the nearest park would be the Fun Spot in Indiana.

I have been hearing for years that the Vortex at PKI is on the hit list, but I doubt it will be going anywhere anytime soon. :-)

My controversial two cents:

RWB at SFWoA can't be anywhere near the end of its life, because of the retracking work being done. That coaster was probably my favorite when I was a kid, and I still enjoy it.

Meanstreak, if enough money was invested in it, could be a great ride. It has a lot of personality, and you never know what you are going to get. I remember this past season, having both an amazing ride, and a painful ride, all in the span of two weeks.

If they could get the experiance more consistant, Mean Streak would be a fine coaster.

Avalanche Sam this thread was started 2 years ago. The comments on RWB as well as the other coasters were made then. I was looking thru my posts and found this thread and since it was near the 2 year mark I decided to update it.

Fortunately most of the coasters mentioned survived, however could anyone back then have forseen the losses of Hercules, Orient Express, and Shockwave(temporarily?)

This was a game but unfortunately most of the posters didn't get the idea and just started naming off coasters they thought Should be removed because of personal dislikes or whatever.

I agree about your Mean Streak observation. One season it was tearing around the track like a bat out of hell. Another season it went so slowly we caused the train behind us to stack on the mid-course.

I'm glad that Carolina Cyclone is still there too, Tina, probably my fav. old arrow. I think some of the removed rides will be relocated eventually within Six Flags, but some of those predictions were scary.

I'm still waiting for something on Shockwave @ PKD, hope they don't remove it, but I expect it.

Well, I don't think Shockwave at Kings Dominion will be going anywhere. On Thrill Nerds site, they got to go check out Scooby Doo construction. While there, they asked the person who was giving them the tour of Shockwave was in plans to be removed, and it wasn't or ever was.
