Not to give say it is a bad ride, but the Viper was basically a copy of Shockwave @ SFGAm. The only major difference in the layout is that the turn after the 1st loop on Viper turns the train about 180 degrees around and on Shockwave it is about a 30 degree turn. Otherwise it is the same order for the inversions and turns. The heights of the rides do differ, but not by much.

Umm almost all Arrow Multi Loopers have the Same order of Inversions, Kinda like B&M Floorless, and Sitdowns.

I disagree Intaminrocks:
The Demon @ SFGam= 2 loops, 2 corckscrews.
Anaconda @ PKD= loop, sidewinder, corckscrew.
Drachen Fire @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg: corckscrew, batwing, corckscrew, cutback.
Loch Ness Monster: two interlocking loops.
Need any more examples???

What's the point of this thread? We've known about Viper's layout since 1990...

Who cares? All in all, it's a kick butt ride with some intense moments. So what if it's an almost clone of GASM and Shockwave. There are a billion "clones" of the Coney Island Cyclone and no ones saying anything like this about it.

Accually, I bet Viper is better than Shockwave. My reasoning? The refinement of the layout, chaging the (almost) 2 45 degree turns into one 180 degree turn. I bet that makes the ride in and around the brake run much smoother. The 3 mega-looper triplets are clones, we all know that, but refining the layout probably made it better.

But we all know which one is the better of the three. Knowing how the earlier east coast closer look-a-likes rock riders around as if it were the northridge earthquake. Brutal honesty and brutal rides.

They were built as a series by Arrow for six flags. And back then it was a huge, huge deal. Remember, back then, these were the biggest coasters being built.

1) It is obvious that coasteraddict cares elsewise the topic wouldnt exist. If *YOU* dont care, dont respond. Man I *hate* when people says 'who cares'. It's so egotistical, demeaning, and condesending.
2) As far as I know, there are only FOUR CI-Clones (Texas Cyclone, Viper, Psyclone, Georgia Cyclone)
3) I be willing to bet the *slight* layout change on Viper makes the entrance to the brake run much more tolerable.

And what's funny is that none of the mega loopers are really even clones. there are big differences that make for large variances in the qualities of the ride.

The majority of people who ride Viper have no idea Shockwave is even in existance.

Yeah, and the majority of people who ride Shockwave don't care if Viper exists, they've had enough already!

The only reason I brought this topic up was because I am sick of Viper always being on t.v. etc. They always show Magic Mountain and Cedar Point!!!(I have nothing against these parks obviously, because we all love roller coasters) But Why not show some other parks???
