When the ride opens it should be quite an experience, so we just have to be patient. Besides, it's turning out to be as it should have been anyway, Deja Vu this year and X for 02. This coaster record stuff causes all sorts of problems.  ;)

Hopefully, if Trackmaster knows his stuff, the roughness will be fixes. Having you head slammed repeatedly against a concrete block does not sound like very much fun to me...:(

Just as long as X is open next year in June when the American Coaster Enthusiasts have their annual CoasterCon.

It WILL be up and running for CoasterCon...they may wait to get all 15 (or even 16) running SIMULTANEOUSLY so they can have Guinness give them the "official" tag while we're there!

Never touch a mechanical nightmare? Arrow has sold many mechanical nightmares. Remeber The Bat? That thing was a nightmare, and with redesign, a few years later XLR8 debuted and worked. If there is a major problem, Arrow will fix it.

Right on TrBiggar.  I read that info. in a book and it seems that after the Bat was tried out, XLR worked like a charm.  Wherever the next two 4th dimesions are, they will work and probably won't have any flams.  You just have to trust this one.  X WILL OPEN!

Just a follow up news item, as well as a cheap attempt to get more hits on this forum topic.  http://www.geocities.com/totallysfmm posted this:

Rumor has it that that both X trains are of the track and headed back to Arrow's Headquaters in Utah to fix the other rumor, that sparks are flying off the train during it's tests' with weights. Cananyone confirm this?

All I can say is. take your time to get it right.  But for God's sake, open it before you start building your next attraction.  Which, I believe, will be a giga-woodie.  What do you think?  Also, what are the crowds like on the weekends?

Hey! Mabye they should keep the trains and use the sparks as special effects! J/K OK anyway the if something like this did happen, the get those trains outta here! I also think that thisis just a minor setback. If anything did happen, they'll get it fixed and we'll all be happy in the end...........or at least I hope. I think what is happening with X is called trial and error so once they get it fixed, we'll again, all be happy in the end.
Oh BTW if alot of this is bold and italicized let me know. thanks.

Adam,

I was at SFMM over the weekend.  (just got back to Chicago, in fact.)  The trains were NOT off, and they ran two test runs on Saturday night.  I saw a total of ZERO sparks.  I think this is another one of those wildly unsubstantiated rumors that tend to go wild on the internet (i.e. Magnum Sinking).

Redman,

Thanks for the info.  I really hoped that it wasn't true.  How did it look while testing?  Watching videos only gets you so far.  Also, what were the crowds like?  Can you give me wait times for Deja Vu, X, etc?

Thanks!

Oh yea, the wait for X was really long this past weekend, lol ;) Since it is Fright Fest, the waits are usually a little longer, until about 9. but then you only have an hour to ride them (unless they do that whole "close once everyone leaves" thing) DeJa Vu's wait is long, about an hour. The rest except for Superman and Riddler's Revenge were less than 45 minutes

Salvi,

Sorry about that.  I'm such a dumbass.  I guess that's what midterms will do to you.  Do they have that Fastpass system set up yet?  How much is it.  Sorry again for my lack of intelligence on these late nights.

That's just a small "for fun" coaster site that some here (well maybe used to be here) made.  That's just something they kind of made up...  /P

lol!  If you do look at X it does look like a jungle gym.  Just add some of those tight tubes and spiraling slides and you've got hours of fun for the little ones instead of 2 minutes of fun for the big ones!!!

From the way the ride "looks" I can see that there might have been some sort of problems with the design.. I mean, having the weight on the sides like that through motions just seems "odd" for it to hold up...
...but yet, you would think they would take this into consideration and a designer wouldn't "mess up" as badly as that... so I can't see how something could come out that bad...

Hey, Do you design coasters? Then shut it. Look at Vekoma, they had to file chapter 11 because of the Deja Vu Problem and the problems with their Flying Dutchman's. When you design a new type of coaster you can not perdict everything. Their prototype worked, they went with that...

i agree with quite a few of you....leave Arrow alone!  they have done nothing short of revolutionize the coaster industry for decades.  the reason we love these steel, looping monsters is often because of arrow.  i know were all anxiously awaiting X, but we need to realize how complex this machine is.....id MUCH rather them make sure it is safe, before rushing the GP on it.  give them a chance...they will get it right, and it will ROCK!!!  and once again, prove how capable Arrow is of turning our heads!!1 :)
