Six Flags America - Farewell Tour 2025

Visited one last time yesterday, and it was sad. One train operation and terrible staffing. Its amazing the park lasted this long. It was my home park off and on for 26 years.

It was good to get to ride the coasters one last time. SROS and JJ were both running well. Long waits, so we bought a few one shot skip the line to make it bearable.

They also had 85% off merchandise. The shelves were empty, and I didn't even find a t-shirt to buy.

It just seems like the start of the park selling off that's going to happen with the Six Flags chain.

Someone climbed Batwing on the last day. Then got hauled off in cuffs of course.

That’s the distinguished guest market they are targeting.

Ouch / lol!!!

Seeing that guy run up the lift hill brought back memories of the busbar system that was supposed to recline the seats going up the lift. To increase capacity, the trains would leave the station upright and slowly recline into locking position before reaching the top of the lift. Saw maintenance working on the X-Flight coaster trying to make the system work but they eventually gave up and just used manual recline and never used 3 train ops.

My first thought was, "What are they going to do? Trespass the guy from Six Flags?" Then at the end of one of those videos, someone said what I was thinking.

I bet he got some epic pictures to put on social media. I hope it was worth it.

Maryland law says:

A person may not enter or trespass on property that is posted conspicuously against trespass by:

(1) signs placed where they reasonably may be seen; ...

A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to:

(1) for a first violation, imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or a fine not exceeding $500 or both;

Ignoring for a moment the jail time, clearly Six Flags should be kicking themselves for not offering a $500 "Climb Batwing" upgrade.

And sh!t like this is why parks don't announce ride closures in advance.

People suck.

They owe some coaster closure to the people damnit!!!

Getting arrested climbing Batwing > RRR

For what it's worth, a non-enthusiast friend was texting me while he was at SFA on Saturday (last day of operation). When I told him the last time I was there was in 2003, he mentioned he'd been taking his son there every year for the last several years because he lives pretty close by. He confirmed that it's been a s***hole the entire time he's been going, so I feel vindicated that I haven't been back in 22 years.

Side note, he was disappointed he did not witness the Batwing incident.
