Six Flags America is closing on Sunday, 11/02/2025. I am starting this topic for people to post their experiences if they happen to visit the park this final year. How was your visit? Good? Bad?
I did a two hour visit Easter Sunday. Rode the open coasters, a couple of flats and headed out. There wasn't really a crowd and the food options were very sparse. Ride operations for what was running were fine. So I decided to head out and maybe get to Great Adventure and hope for the same crowd level.
I got to Delaware and traffic was a mess so I just drove to my home outside Philly.
Currently planning a trip with my dad to go there in July. Anyone have any advice?
Counting down the days until I'm back at Cedar Point, the one and only place to be.
I am just curious if Six Flag employees will notice a difference between this year and last year given they have pink slips in their hands. Service was always bad, but if the management doesn't care, then this park can come to a new level of mayhem this summer.
Which makes me wonder why they didn't wait to announce that the park was closing. The only way the lackluster service gets any worse is if too many employees decide to find another job before the park shuts down.

Go to Knoebels.
I would imagine the majority of the staff are seasonals. Other than knowing they don't have the option to return next year, I'm sure most of them have work agreements that end in the fall anyway.
I also would think the full time staff will have the chance to move to other parks. Even with the recent layoffs, I'm sure they will have discussions with and make offers to folks they want to try and keep.
I am thinking of going since I want to get a final ride on the Wild One and the only surviving Vekoma flying Dutchman because quite frankly those two are heading to the scrap yard.
This has been floating around the socials since last night. It's all enthusiast armchair guessing, but if anyone was planning to go specifically for the Batwing credit, I'd wait to see if anything official comes out about the status of the ride:
He started out at Geauga Lake before his stint in Maryland and will head to a new gig at Michigan's Adventure in 2026. I'm looking forward to the cleveland.com piece on his career history and highlights.
I have questions. I'm not familiar with the setup, but why would there be a motor at the top of the lift? That's a huge PIA to work on or swap out. It's probably at the bottom, with just a gear up top. Also, if there's a crack in the motor, why did oil leak? The oil should be in the gearbox that's coupled to the motor. This is making me weary.

Vekoma was on a kick for a while in the 90’s and 2000’s of putting those motors on top.
The SLC has this configuration too. I know why it’s advantageous for the SLC, but couldn’t tell you why they did it for the flyer.
If nothing else, it makes for an interesting experience as you go up the lift, the noise of the motor gets louder and louder. https://rcdb.com/aadwhga
When working on an SLC, I recall guests (aside from complaining about what it had done to their ears, or quipping that the word 'Lethal' in the ride's name was well placed) often asked "if it was supposed to be that loud".
Those motors are extremely loud, if they were next to the station it would be pretty grim.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
