I figured it was charging for parking…

Did a farewell visit on Father's Day and the day after. In my case the stars aligned for rides being open, weather keeping people away, and said weather being overcast and unseasonably cool.

I swore off this park after a visit in 2002, but life has completely changed since then. I now have three teenaged coaster enthusiasts and they wanted to get their experience in before the park closed for good. The front area was so nicely thought out and themed. Not having crowds was really nice to enjoy the park but the emptiness gave me similar vibes to Geauga Lake in 2006/2007.

Once you punch through Wild One where Six Flags went on a building spree, the walk is crazy long to get to Superman and even crazier to get to Batwing.

Batwing indeed opened the day before after an extended downtime. That ride, Superman, and Joker's Jinx are all down to one train op, but that didn't matter since everything was a walk on. The new Superman train is nice, still has the shin guards and rides pretty shaky through the course. As much as I'd love to see this ride live on somewhere I would be shocked if it did.

I didn't remember Joker's Jinx being so much better than the Flight of Fear's but it is! A lot smoother and it rips through the course without the midcourse. As I understand it, the support structure was beefed up after the FoF's and I think made a noticeable difference in the ride being a bit smoother. Only running one train with the second train nowhere to be found.

Losing Wild One is going to be a shame. It was running decently well and just a fun old school woodie that are becoming less common these days. Roar was... oof. Like rolling around in a garbage can. Unbearably rough.

The SLC is also sporting a pair of new trains. Still rides a bit rough. Firebird with the floorless trains... oof. But there's fire that shoots out near the end!!

One thing I noticed is the lack of coasters that someone 48-52" inches can do in the park. Batwing, S:RoS, Joker's Jinx and Firebird all have a 54" height requirement. Not great if you have a younger rider. That only leaves you Wild One, Roar, the SLC, Ragin Cagin (Spinning Mouse), and the kiddie coaster.

It's kind of a shame that the park is going away, but not surprised.

I can second that. ROAR is a super rough ride. I have never walked off that ride and said, "That was awesome!" Yet, I always come back for the abuse.

I went on a Saturday. One train operation on Roar. Two on Superman and Wild One. Jokers jinx operated a little bit, but kept breaking down. Those were the only coasters I was interested in.

I absolutely love the layout of Roar It’s a shame it’s such a jackhammering experience. The same layout with better track and articulating trains would be amazing

Lines were short on a Saturday for the rides, so that tells a tale of the state of the park

It’s a typical rundown Six Flags park . It’s just not a nice place to be.

I was surprised they actually had a couple live entertainment shows in their theater and stunt stadium. Not quality shows but it was something

The train ride was operating that day It goes through some trashy looking back areas Including passing the rotting second train

This land had a lot of potential as a theme park but it never met its potential because of bad ownership IMO
